KCRA’s Hearst content partner, The San Francisco Chronicle, received emails from people claiming to be the kidnappers, demanding an apology to Denise Huskins and saying police were wrong to call the incident a hoax.

Last week, Huskins’ boyfriend told police that intruders had abducted her from their Mare Island home and held her for ransom. The ransom was reported to be $8,500.

Huskins was found safe Wednesday morning in Huntington Beach.

The series of emails sent to The San Francisco Chronicle elaborate a plan to kidnap Huskins and force her boyfriend -- Aaron Quinn, 30, -- to stay quiet.

The kidnapping, however, was a case of mistaken identity and Huskins was let go, according to the emails.

The emails warn that police have until noon Tuesday to apologize to Huskins, or there will be consequences to the department, and specifically to police spokesman Lt. Kenny Park.

Hours after Huskins was found safe Wednesday, Vallejo police held a news conference and said there was no evidence to support the claims that there was an abduction.

She's really pretty...I reckon that's why they keep running this story.

Now they say it is a new organized crime element, made up of highly educated criminals. Lawyer won't elaborate. Who knows?

It's so bizarre that I fear it is really a non-story. But she is quite pretty, so the news guys keep going back.
