Religious broadcaster warns Christians to ‘prepare for martyrdom’ if Supreme Court legalizes gay marriage
A religious conservative broadcaster warned Christians to “prepare for martyrdom” if the U.S. Supreme Court sanctioned marriage equality.
Sandy Rios, director of governmental affairs for the American Family Association and host of a daily radio program, did not specify what she meant by that – but her context was clear. “Homosexual marriage is going to bring about the tip of the spear of the battle we’re going to face,” Rios said Thursday to a gathering of religious right activists and pastors. Right Wing Watch reported that Rios warned participants that “your wives, your sisters, your children who now are going to be forced to go into public restrooms and share them with men dressed like women.” “In Massachusetts, where homosexual marriage has been legal for 10 years, the stories would make the hair stand up on the back of your neck,” she said, although she did not share any of those hair-raising examples.
She warned that Christians would be faced with a choice as soon as next month if the Supreme Court struck down laws banning same-sex marriage. “If they do, every single person in this room is going to be forced to make a choice, and I’m just telling you: Even if you don’t want to engage in this battle, you will and your people will, and you’d better stand,” Rios warned. She told the Christian activists to “stop playing it safe,” telling them the Bible encouraged bold action. “You must prepare for martyrdom,” Rios said. “I don’t know what it’s going to look like, but it’s coming.” Religious conservatives have been encouraging activists and lawmakers to pledge to commit unspecified acts of civil disobedience if the court strikes down bans against same-sex marriage. Other anti-LGBT activists have warned the ruling could somehow lead to the mass arrest of Christians in the U.S.

Literal religious belief yet again bringing out the worst in people.
It shows clearly how such a literal belief really does not allow for any real equality in society. Basically the deity portrayed in these books, has less compassion than some humans and even worse criminalizes love between two consenting adults. Which being the fact they are born this way, the deities portrayed if they did exist, means they condemn homosexuals to a life without intimate love. If that is not a good enough to reason to show the Abrahamic faiths are nothing more than man made, I do not what is. Another reason and proof to show how made up these 3 faiths are and even worse people believe in these bad ideas, which hardly shows a loving and compassionate deity.
The main 3 Abrahamic faiths are full of bad ideas.

People like that over here talk like that all the time, but rarely do they ever actually do anything.

But the US Ben, is one of the few places that does have Christian terrorists.
Even if they did not go as far as Martyrdom, this is still promoting a very hateful rhetoric, when it really does not affect countless Christians.
That is one of the biggest problems in the US, some of the evangical movement, as they can be very extreme, espcially those who advocate Dominionism. The thing is with such hate speech like this basically asking people to rise up and basically commit acts of suicide terror. Again why religions are full of bad ideas and why more than anything with such poor hate spouted out here, more people need to stand up and be counted and counter her views.

But for the most part they are the 'invested' ones. People who are 'invested' don't want to tear things down. It is only the disaffected who go crazy.
