It seems some of you are "confused as to where I stand politically...

nationalistic and socialistic by turns, It seems i dont actually have a "position" on the political scale in the common way of things

"national socialist" is too contaminated by the legacy of the "hitlerists" who used it as an excuse to poison an entirely good ideology and I could never condone even one fraction of what was done in te name of that vile man....or indeed is done today by those who are in love with that sick ideology
NOR can i be at ease with the controlling evil of the left, who seem to think that NO-ONE should be allowed any independant though or any activity outside of the norms which are set, not by concensus but by loud, bullying, threatening and on occsaisions violent minorities....

one is as bad as the other....

but I have finally found something that expresses MY wish of how things should be.....

together and yet independant
supportive yet tolerant

Agreed, but to be proud of your nation you also have to acknowledge it's faults. This song seems to say 'My Country Right or Wrong' and I have NEVER agreed with that.

What I support most definitely is, because I'm looking at the wider picture, not narrowed down to hunting shooting and fishing. I've never seen any mention of fishing being stopped, ever. You are still allowed to hunt, can you see the estates that make a fortune from it giving it up? Sorry Vic, but I think in the scheme of things, those particular worries count as nowt when you have the level of poverty we have now, the NHS being sold to the highest bidder and people with disabilites being called scroungers. With that going on, I just can't get worked up about hunting.

I don't consider any freedom 'expendable', but I do have priorities. I loathed Blair and would never have voted for him. The Labour Party today is nothing like his Labour Party thankfully. The consultation they have done with ordinary members is huge. I know, I've been part of it in my own very small way. But they have listened. So many of their policies were put together by ordinary members.

the whole farm to plate chain is viley cruel, even at the side of hunting (well I cant speak for how YOU lot conduct yourself over there) and whilst there are indeed very occaisioal mistakes and even less ocaisional deliberate acts of cruelty by LEGITIMATE shooters over here, at the side of "food production" hunting is by far the lesser evil.

I'm sorry Victor, love you to bits, but you are being really silly. With all that has happened in the last five years, the priority has to be helping those hit hardest, helping the NHS and stopping the privatisation (look at the thread I did on UK News), making sure people don't go cold next winter and doing something abour renationalising some of the railways so that people can afford to get to work and actually get there (which isn't happening on the East Coast).

It may have escaped your notice but "fox hunts" ie foxing with hounds on horseback is BANNED and has been for a number of years...

of course that NOW means I have to do MY job for my farmers...and shoot em ....

now I never was much of a fan of fox hunting with hounds.....

but......unless you know a few facts around it you have NO idea of the initial problems the ban caused...

and the lefty tree huggers STILL havnt an answer to the problems...so now we have the "urban fox" which has now become such a problem in london even Borris wants em shooting....

as If he will find a shooter that will take down foxes in an built up area...no thanks Mr Borris.....it aint safe....

Now you know as well as I do that Hunts bred foxes and make dens, lord knows they have been filmed doing it enough times. And urban foxes (actually they are not 'urban', they tend to roam) keep down the rodent population in cities.

Oh give over Vic, of course nobody should be attacked with an iron bar, but don't pretend it is all one sided. I've seen for myself Huntsmen attacking people trying to stop them going after foxes, and they still do. I've seen for myself dogs run over running across roads in the middle of a hunt, I've heard their screams. I've seen a stag trying to run with a broken leg being chased by hounds in Somerset. I've been driven into a ditch trying to avoid hounds running throught the bottom of hedges and across the road in front of us.

They have charted foxes in towns and they go back and forth between town and country. In fact, all you have to do to stop them eating throwaways is to have stronger bins and better rubbish collection. Then practially all they eat is rats etc. Dogs carry mange to, so do rabbits and guinea pigs.

of course filmed by "hug a fox .co.uk" well i can tell you absolutely different from personal observation...elderly cats and youngsters are most at risk...agreed a fox would be wisely wary of a full grown cat...

there are VERY few "real hunts nowadays" (since it IS illegal) MOST (though granted there is the odd illegal one) are "drag hunts" and the smellies STILL target them...

never hunted deer with dogs...in fact the only time I have hunted deer they have been "stalked" MUCH more challenging

as for dogs on the road...people shouldnt drive like loonies on country roads....always expect the unexpected....and drive to the conditions...If you cannot see round a bend within you stopping distance ...you are going too fast Razz

Foxes come from England how could they be the wrong place?
