Cancer Killing Nanobots to Start human trials.
According to Jason Dorrier for Singularity Hub, a critically-ill leukemia patient is to be given an injection of DNA nanobots that will target the disease directly, causing almost zero damage to non-effected parts of the body.
The nanobots work, essentially, by “unlocking” when they come into contact with the disease, releasing a payload of drugs, so they don’t have to wreck the whole system just to get at the bad stuff. While human trials will begin, perfecting the technique might be some way off. At least what was once pure science-fiction is now a tantalising possibility.
DNA nanobots have already been tuned to 12 different types of tumour and with a lot more research and funding, the future could see nanobot injections snuffing out cancer in healthy patients before it’s even detectable by regular methods.

Also read somewhere that a new antibiotic has been developed that will kill even the most antibiotic-resistant bacteria. It's a good time to be clinging to life!
