Re: Happy birthday Handy Andy
Belated thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes on Wednesday. Contrary to what one or two thought, it was my birthday.
Just been a bit busy yesterday as my mother-in-law was rushed to hospital following a stroke and huge fall.
Broken eye socket, cheekbone, shoulder and hip damage.
At 88, the prognosis is not good.
Being there to support my wife seemed a bit more worthwhile than posting on internet chat forums.
The NHS were MAGNIFICENT.
A&E was rammed, British and foreign doctors and nurses made a brilliant team despite being overwhelmed by many seriously ill/injured elderly BRITISH people.
We saw no evidence -in spite of what Farage says - of freeloading health tourists and spongers who didn't need to be there.

So sorry about your MIL, HA. Pls pass on our regards and love to your wife. And, of course, prayers for mom...may she persevere forever.

She is very old, has dreadful health generally and has dementia and Altzheimers ( Lewy Body). Mostly she is in her own secluded happy world.
Visited this afternoon and has a haunted sunken look.
Hope for the best and expect the worst.
Thanks for the good wishes.

Re: Happy birthday Handy Andy
Just to update everyone MiL sadly passed 4 weeks ago and she was cremated last Friday.
We made it a reunion service for her late hubby , as they had been married for 67 years.
No one cried - but lots of nice family reminiscing.
A celebration of life - is how I would want to be remembered as well.

Sorry to hear Andy for you and your families loss here.
I love the concept of a celebration of life in how we remember people and very much believe in the same thing.
Once again sorry to hear, best wishes and thoughts to you and your family.

Re: Happy birthday Handy Andy
Thanks to everyone for their good wiishes. much appreciated.
Many of us will never come close to agreeing politically, but death in the family certainly brings home how fragile life is, and it should be spent having fun with no recriminations or regrets.
