ok I know its not like being in the UK or North Dakota in January but we are sitting at 57°F right now and due to go down to 41° by midnight and a high tomorrow of 64°.

last night was first night I didn't turn on the AC since Ohhhhhhhhhhhh....may.

so in celebration (?) ive made a roast chicken, roast potatoes, stuffing, cauliflower cheese, roasted Brussels sprout, carrots and Yorkshires and gravy.......cause northern boys luv gravy.

and its time for Monday Night Football - a good night is on the cards.

It started cooling down here Halloween night, dropped to about 45 (7 C). It felt really cold but within days I was used to it -- it's hoodie time! Two extra pockets for four whole months!

Cass, I noticed you mentioned "bubble and squeak" what do you use to cook that? Over here it's potato and cabbage fried in a pan.

hi nicko.....I used to fry it and add some bacon but now I do the following:

I use up all the leftovers potatoes, stuffing and veg - I put it in the food processor and whizz until all mixed in then I put it in a buttered casserole dish and bake it in the oven for about an hour. Serve with nice sausages and Heinz beans and if I'm feeling generous I might make more Yorkshires. I think the cauliflower cheese really makes it better Smile
