Crazy cat acting very strange
One of our cats has taken to sleeping on the toilet seat in our bathroom..I say sleeping but for the most part she sits upright and staring at you and you have to move her off when you want to use it.
Last night she woke us up because she was meowing so loud.
We can't think why she is acting in this way and can't see any fleas or anything but have bought wormer tablets and spot on flea treatment in the hope of solving this weird behaviour.
We did find it quite funny at first but we think that she must be trying to tell us something and have become a little bit concerned.
Has anyone else experienced weird cat behaviour?

I have tried leaving the toilet seat up but then she just sleeps in the bath tub!

Have you had any weird weather lately? Pets can react really strangely to that; one of my dogs runs to the bathroom to cower if she even hears drizzle hitting the windows (poor little thing).

We have had a hotter summer than usual this year and they have been spending more time outside but nothing out of the ordinary and i noticed our other cat has been staring blankly into the wall recently as well as if she can see something that we can't!Ben_Reilly wrote:Have you had any weird weather lately? We've had them for over eight years now and they are acting completely out of character.

Hmmm ... maybe something in the walls as far as the staring cat goes; they can pick up just about anything with their hearing and sense of smell. If it's been hotter, maybe bathroom cat has discovered how lovely and cool the toilet seat and bathtub can get and is just trying to cool down?

Possibly Ben...This is the first time the we haven't a stand up fan on the go!Ben_Reilly wrote:Hmmm ... maybe something in the walls as far as the staring cat goes; they can pick up just about anything with their hearing and sense of smell. We have been doing the flea and worming treatment today or rather on one of our cats...The other one is refusing to come in..She wasn't even in at the time that we were treating her sister but obviously her sister has told her what we are up to in some way!

Re: Crazy cat acting very strange
One cat has come in but unfortunately it's not the one that needs to be treated...She jumped on our coffee table flicking her tail (sure sign that she isn't very happy) and i said hello and she glared at me and has run out of the room!
Cats aint stupid! No wonder the ancient Egyptians used to worship them and i believe that the Muslim prophet Mohammed used to have a cat that he was very fond of and is mentioned in the Koran!

It can be hard to figure out what's going on with them, my sister's eight-year-old cat had a really bizarre seizure recently and then started acting like nothing'd happened ...

Ha! Job done!Ben_Reilly wrote:It can be hard to figure out what's going on with them, my sister's eight-year-old cat had a really bizarre seizure recently and then started acting like nothing'd happened ...
...And previously Twiggy has put up the most fuss but compared to the strop that Passion gave us that was nothing in comparison!
We all go through trials and tribulations with our pets but imo they are well worth it

Hey
Since it seems to enjoy spending time in there maybe you could train it to use the toilet, I've seen training stuff for it online. No more litter box!

I have seen that online as well ...But she is far too obstinate to be trained to use a loo! and now her new thing is to stay outside all day when she used to be in all day and our other cat who used to be out for the most part is in for the most part!....There has always been a bit of a competition between our two wanting to sleep where the other one sleeps etc and now this rivalry seems to have been extended to the outside!
When we moved here we gave up cat litter trays because we put in a cat flap to our garden

Ha! That reminds me of a Boston terrier law I've observed. There can be up to a dozen toys strewn about, but only one can be interesting at any given moment, even though there are two dogs.
Bitches be crazy ...

We were left in stitches earlier when we heard Twiggy screaming from the bathroom....Reason....I forgot to put the toilet seat down and she was unable to sit on it!

That's awesome! One time the dogs got a new bed that had a fancy plush bone-shaped pillow velcroed to one side. One of the dogs decided she wanted to play with it, bit onto it and started pulling the bed all over the floor.
The other dog realized what the problem was and stood in the bed so the other could remove the pillow. It was so cool

She has been in all night but's that's because it's been a bit cooler :D ...I didn't even moan when she plonked herself on my lap and couldn't move for a couple of hours because she had been on the missing list for the last few days!Ben_Reilly wrote:That's awesome!
