The Americans have secured the release of Bowe Bergdahl.

It's controversial, but i agree with bringing your armed forces back home.

Even if this guy deserted, they need him home - he needs to be questioned in depth.

A full investigation in to Braccabarma's actions must be undertaken too - if he's broken the law, send him to prison!

Two former comrades of U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl have confirmed to MailOnline that their former platoon-mate walked away from his post in Afghanistan on June 30, 2009 with the intention of reneging on his military oath.

'I'm positive that he's a deserter, and that it was all premeditated,' said Gerald Sutton, a 31-year-old Michigan college student who left the military in September 2012 and said he was 'a good friend' of Bergdahl when they were deployed to the Middle East.

A Pentagon investigation established in 2010 that on that Tuesday, Bergdahl abandoned his platoon in a war zone near the Pakistan border while serving with the 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division.

The Idaho native's disappearance led to an all-hands-on-deck manhunt in Afghanistan's Paktika Province, as thousands of troops were diverted to rescue a man who left the safety of his outpost with his eyes open.

'He wasn't out on some patrol one day and got captured by the Taliban, and nobody smuggled him off of the base,' explained Cody Full, a 25-year-old former infantryman who spoke with MailOnline from Houston, Texas.

There's an awful lot about this on GLP Andy. Five soldiers (real heroes not deserters) died during rescue attempts for this man over the time he was missing.

That's not even going into the whole concept of giving into terrorists' demands over prisoners being released, which will no dount cause even more to be held to ransom in the future.

Well done for bringing him home.

Before going to Iraq and Afghanistan everybody has a talk by the Royal Military Police or their RAF/navy equivalent about the laws and rules of engagement - "if you're being fired on by 50 insurgents but you can't see them clearly don't fire - you might kill an innocent" etc.

I told my boys - just come back home, your mum won't care if you go to prison when you do come home, just make it back.

I am not knowledgeable enough to judge the claim of sanctifying the White House and claiming it for Islam, but I place a lot of stick in watching nonverbal cues, people’s quick reactions. And so, when our friends at iOwnTheWorld.com captured and enlarged President Obama’s reaction to Bergdahl’s invocation of Allah, it hit me hard. Watch for yourself and see if it means anything to you....

OMG you guys! Disgraced former torturer Allen West, super-patriot and Muslim-Hunter extraordinaire, has been tipped off to some earth-shattering proof of Muslim perfidy and scary creeping — or galloping! — sharia law! After spending the weekend calling Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl a “deserter” and hinting that there’s something “nefarious” about his release from the Taliban, and about Bergdahl’s father, Bob Bergdahl (who apparently doesn’t hate Muslims enough at all), West has revealed a “bombshell”: Bob Bergdahl spoke Arabic at the White House! Not only that, but he pretty much made the White House a holy Muslim shrine by doing that, according to a very smart person who emailed Allen West.

Is America going to continue to let Barack Hussein Obama invite parents of rescued POWs to the White House and claim it for Islam?
