In Blindspot, the authors reveal hidden biases based on their experience with the Implicit Association Test, a method that has revolutionized the way scientists learn about the human mind and that gives us a glimpse into what lies within the metaphoric blindspot.

The title’s “good people” are those of us who strive to align our behavior with our intentions. The aim of Blindspot is to explain the science in plain enough language to help well-intentioned people achieve that alignment. By gaining awareness, we can adapt beliefs and behavior and “outsmart the machine” in our heads so we can be fairer to those around us. Venturing into this book is an invitation to understand our own minds.

Here's the link to the test the authors used. I found it worked much better in Firefox than in Chrome, and I did it on my desktop computer.

Yeah, I tried a few times to complete it in Chrome and just couldn't get it to process.

I don't think it's possible to cheat on that test; one of the reasons I posted it here is that I find the design very interesting.

And a moderate preference (BOOKMARK THIS COMMENT NOW) for one ethnicity isn't really that big a deal, not so much as how you act on it, treat people, etc.

All I was doing was what it told me to do????
I was trying hard to get the answers right so not sure what the test proves tbh.

Anyway my result was:

yeh same here.. but if you look at the pictures of the children sometimes the word pleasant .. then you had to click afro american or something like that weird set up... wonder if we can do it again?

Do you think I'm a racist because I can see colour, laugh with it, see it's flaws and stereotypes, see the beauty, admire the differences but still wish to live in a country that remains and retains its fundemental Englishness?

exactly it is not just about mean names it is about what we expect and what we get out of being part of our society and it is OUR society now we are all part of the broader global community

There were too many errors made to determine a result. for me ....i wonder what that means

perhaps i am crap at tests or i don`t see race
