Feliz Cinco de Mayo!
For all the foreigners here, I thought I'd share the Ben_Reilly Cinco de Mayo margarita recipe:
You'll need four ounces of El Jimador 100 percent Blue Agave tequila, one ice cube, and a lime.
Place the cube in a whiskey glass, pour tequila over the ice, and wave the lime over the top of the glass while exclaiming, "A la mierda los franceses!" And enjoy.

I don't always drink tequila but when I do, I prefer El Jimador.
Stay thirsty my friend!
Ps made some awesome salsa and guac for tonight - gonna slob out on the sofa stuffing my face. Enjoy x

It's a celebration of a very improbable victory by Mexico in the Battle of the Puebla over a superior French army in 1862. It's actually a bigger deal in the U.S. than in Mexico ...

It is. The usual Bigwigs gather of course but there is lots of family stuff too. The re-enactment of the flag being flown from the Pomme D'Or Hotel street entertainment that sort of thing and remembrance too we have many allied graves and memorials to the POWs
I shall miss being there, always makes me miss my dad more too. He was the first civilian to get to the prisoners in the Underground Hospital where they were still digging tunnels poor sods.

That is amazing, and very glad to hear it's celebrated still. Beating the Nazis should always prompt a party
