Er, Hungary’s got talent
BRITAIN’S Got Talent is expected to be won tonight by red hot favourites Attraction — from Hungary.
Show boss Simon Cowell said the dancers are “incredible, no matter where they’re from”.
And they will try to win by paying tribute to our national icons — including The Queen.
Her Majesty will feature in a special “Best of British” performance that will include Winston Churchill and the London Olympics.
The dance is designed as a “tribute to the British people” for backing the group, who have been allowed to take part in the contest aimed at showcasing home-grown talent.
Last night dad-of-two Zoltan Scuzs, 40, who founded the eight-strong troupe in Budapest in 2004, said: “There is a big pressure for us. I hope our final performance will be a big surprise for the British public.”
BGT mastermind Simon Cowell has admitted he is ready for any backlash if they land the £250,000 first prize, saying the fact they have been getting so much support showed the country was behind them.
He said: “I see it as a testament to how we are as a country. We want everyone to do well, no matter where they are from. It’s a positive not a negative.”
Cowell told how he loved their act, adding: “It got to me so much when I watched it the other night.
“It’s like an illusion basically but they bring these images to life and tell an incredible story. They’re incredible guys.”
Cowell has big plans for the group — and The Sun can reveal he is secretly preparing to fly them over to Las Vegas, where he wants to launch them as a rival to Cirque du Soleil. He hopes to showcase them in a two-hour show at a top hotel.
Even if Attraction confound bookies’ expectations and fail to win — they bombed in both the Hungarian and German versions of BGT — Cowell is backing them to make him a fortune.
A BGT source said: “Simon sees pound signs when he looks at Attraction.
“People love them and they have an incredible show. He firmly believes their future is in Las Vegas.
“They could land a long-running show to rival Cirque du Soleil, who have been putting on shows in Vegas for years and have made a mint.”
Cowell has already tasted success in Vegas, with ventriloquist and entertainer Terry Fator — winner of America’s Got Talent — landing a $100million, five-year deal at the Mirage.
He believes that either Attraction or comic Jack Carroll will win tonight’s live final, which is expected to be watched by 14million viewers whose vote will decide the winner.
Simon said: “My gut feeling is that Attraction and Jack are the two favourites. But having heard some of the rehearsals we could be in for a shock.”
Jack, 14, who has cerebral palsy, is destined for stardom regardless of whether he wins, according to judge David Walliams.
He said: “He’s just genuinely really, really funny. You can’t bottle that. Even if he doesn’t win, he’s going to be a huge, huge star.”
