Abandoned SpaceX Rocket Will Crash Into The Moon Within Weeks, Scientists Say

A chunk of a SpaceX rocket that blasted off seven years ago and was abandoned in space after completing its mission will crash into the Moon in March, experts say.

The rocket was deployed in 2015 to put into orbit a NASA satellite called the Deep Space Climate Observatory (DSCOVR).

A week after the rocket stage whizzed close to the Moon, Gray observed it again and concluded it would crash into the Moon's far side on March 4 at more than 5,500 miles per hour (9,000 kilometers per hour).

The question is.... What might this 4 tonne impact at 5000 miles a hour do to the moon and/or affect the Moons orbit around Earth?

If as some suspect, there is an alien civilization or alien spaceport on that side of the moon, they may not be too pleased.
it's rather typical of humans though, we fill space with junk and allow things to crash land anywhere, we are so untidy.

The crazy thing is, there has already been talk about trying to change the orbit of the moon by crashing things in to it, all in the name of sorting out so called 'climate change'...

I despair at the lunacy of the so called intelligent people, now and in recent few years...

Just for a bit of context, he once suggested that if we built human colonies on Mars to save the human race, the gay people should be abandoned because they won't procreate, and he's also argued that climate change should be embraced because we'll be able to grow more food ...

Truth be told, this rocket could never have done more than make a minor crater on the Moon's surface. The Moon has been hit by far bigger meteors, travelling at far greater speeds. It's the size of Africa -- no way something so comparitvely small could alter its orbit in the slightest.
