So if you were Oprah...
First topic message reminder :
What questions would you ask Harry and Meghan when they do the interview next month?
"Meghan Markle and husband Prince Harry have agreed to an interview with Oprah Winfrey next month. US network CBS announced: ‘Winfrey will speak with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure. ‘Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family.’ It is not yet clear whether the agreement will have included any ‘no go’ areas, such as discussing individuals in the Royal Family. Meghan is now living with her husband Prince Harry in LA, and the couple announced yesterday that they are expecting a new baby. The Valentine’s Day announcement came with a black and white picture of the smiling couple and the Duchess showing off a slight bump.

For some reason you seem desperate to see him as the lonely, bastard outcast of the family. Abused and unloved until he met Saint Meghan.

Harry's problems started with Meghan. No idea where Quill's started.

sometimes it's fascinating
sometimes it's funny
sometimes a bore

Since no one else will, Meghan is taking on the problem. I see what she sees.

Re: So if you were Oprah...
Oprah must be feeling a tad overwhelmed right now
This interview has already had to be edited once due to loss of UK patronages.
Rumour has it that Oprah is now pissed of with Harry for the James Corden video.
And now, a whole bunch of bullying allegations, some scandal involving earrings and meanwhile Philip seems to be hovering between this life and the next.
who thinks this might be pulled?

They are certainly getting a lot of attention...which may be the point.
She was a TV star before, in an era where the TV content is exploding. Now the two of them are known throughout the English speaking world. Popular or unpopular, it's pure genius.

Re: So if you were Oprah...
indeed, with a new drama and new revelations by the day
by the time this goes on air it will be very much old news
and considering the allegations coming out it may be considered ''fake news''
i have no idea what either of them said and it's too late to do anything about it as i think it's all now owned by CBS.
i have no idea how this is going to play out for them
ps did anyone see Harry with James Corden video?

I have seen a couple of excerpts from the Corden interview.
Have to say, he has played a blinder.
Oprah and her mates have been bragging for weeks about it being the best interview she has ever done....and the little fat actor from the UK has overshadowed her.

He just when downhill from that point (the bereavement). He had crippling mental issues for which he needed specialist help, he brawled in public, he took illegal drugs, he danced butt naked in nightclubs with strippers. Meeting the love of his life twenty years later, literally saved his life imo.

If Meghan is called a gold digger then that description applies to all royal brides too.
They all rise steeply up the wealth and social ladder instantly when they marry into the royal family.
The late queen mother did not have a paid job when she wed a royal. Neither did Camilla. Nor Kate Middleton.
(Prince Phillip was literally penniless when he married into the family.)
At least Meghan had a secure, well paid job when she got engaged - she had a few millions in the bank.

I don't know whether she married for money, fame, love, or to further her political ambitions, I posted that clip of Mrs Merton to show Gels where the expression originated.
I do think she has used her position to make vast amounts of money she could have only dreamed of pre Harry..
She is now ridiculing the very establishment that he was born into, yet it seems they both still wanted to use the royal name to further their own ambitions, and obviously, bit by bit the royals are now making it difficult for them.
She is now complaining she has lost a lot...did she really think she could stab the family (or firm as she is now calling them) in the back and not expect some truths to come out about the way she has acted?
It's sad that both sides are playing dirty, but they did it with Diana, and unfortunately for Meghan, she is nowhere near as important in the Royals eyes.
The best thing she and Harry can do now is to stop mud slinging and make their money whilst they are still topical, because who knows how soon the public will lose interest.

I get your point - but I wanted to stress that this was not a rags to riches story. Meghan had an expensive education, a good job, and good social contacts with all the top people including the Trudeau family.
Before marriage, Lady Diana was a nanny, and Sarah and Sophie had piddly little office jobs, they all profited enormously thru marrying a royal.
Re mudslinging .... good point. I think the Oprah interview should definitely be postponed (even tho Prince Philip has now had his operation and is now on the mend, thankfully). But it's Oprah's decision now, the couple have no say in it.
I hope the royals stick to their customary stiff upper lip. Descending to the same level of mudslingling as the press and the media trolls, with bogus accusations of bullying is not in keeping with their dignified status.

To be honest Jules, I don't think Oprah has any say in it now - although she probably still has massive influence. I think she already sold it to CBS.

I noticed a long time ago that if someone is disliked, whenever that person does something that annoys, people suddenly develop a collective amnesia and act as if it's the first time anyone has ever done that deed. It happens in politics too.
Case in point: Harry is not the only royal to write to the press to lay off his girlfriend, it turns out that Prince William and Prince Edward had both written similar angry letters too, regarding their own girlfriends. It all came out recently.
I also remember when Kate Middleton made a formal complaint against the press for invasion of privacy. Lawyers were involved. Legal action was threatened. The case was eventually settled amicably before it went to court.
As for royal interviews there have been DISASTROUS ones given by Charles, Diana, Sarah and Andrew.
There have also been lots of scandals and divorces too. How quickly people forget, in their haste to demonise Harry & Meghan. Funny old world!

The paps are always in LA, they are everywhere which is why you always get constant pap snaps of celebrities out and about but the celebs in LA Adele/Bruce Willis et al don't care about it and accept it as part of the life they lead. Harry and Megs get to just blend in with everyone else so the paps aren't nearly as likely to follow them about as they are in London (or anywhere else for that matter).
It's celebrity land there so H&M would be a lot further down the list on any paps snap shots desire, i suppose

I agree with that, tho some LA-types are not fond of the paparazzi. Jennifer Garner, I believe, went to court against them:
Guardian wrote:Jennifer Garner joins Halle Berry's fight for new anti-paparazzi law in California
The actors – now backed by the MPAA – have testified before a state assembly committee to the harm and risk inflicted on their children by what they perceive as ineffective legislation
Jennifer Garner has joined a bid by the Oscar-winning actor Halle Berry to introduce new laws in California aimed at protecting children from the activities of paparazzi photographers.
The two women appeared before a committee at the state assembly in Sacramento to argue that the offspring of celebrities were not responsible for being born into the public eye and should not face daily harassment by photographers.
"We're moms here who are just trying to protect our children," said Berry. "These are little innocent children who didn't ask to be celebrities. They didn't ask to be thrown into this game and they don't have the wherewithal to process what's happening. We don't have a law in place to protect them from this."
Garner revealed that a stalker who once threatened to murder her unborn child was caught hiding amongst a group of paparazzi outside her children's school. "There are violent, mentally-ill stalkers who can now get close to my kids by simply following mobs of photographers and blending in," she said. "Like the very man who threatened to cut the babies out of my belly. Who was arrested waiting behind our daughter's preschool, standing among the throng of paparazzi. That man is still in prison, but I have no doubt there are others like him still out there."
https://www.theguardian.com/film/2013/aug/15/jennifer-garner-halle-berry-paparazzi-law
But, no matter, the LA paparazzi do have bigger fish to fry. And that takes the heat off of Meghan and Harry.
