Jeremy Corbyn suspended from Labour Party over antisemitism report reaction
Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has been suspended from the party and has had the whip removed.
A party spokesman said: "In light of his comments made today and his failure to retract them subsequently, the Labour Party has suspended Jeremy Corbyn pending investigation. He has also had the whip removed from the Parliamentary Labour Party."
Mr Corbyn had reacted to a damning report into antisemitism by saying the number of complaints made during his tenure were "dramatically overstated for political reasons".

Long overdue, but this is a start to rid Labour of all its antisemitic far left extremists from its Party

Good riddance, until he smarmed his way into being a big cheese in the Labour party the words anti-Semitism were hardly heard in modern day British politics, he was toxic imo.
If someone like Andy Burnham went back into mainstream politics I could see Labour gaining control again....sadly it's not going to happen just yet, we are stuck with the present shower.

It's the same everywhere I guess. If you stake out a position on the left, you can get away with hate for much longer.

I think Starmer's pretty good. His call for a national circuit-breaker lockdown weeks ago puts him on the side of protecting life and following science. Now that BoJo is finally going to do a lockdown, Starmer's coming up roses.

He’s still a pudgy, David Cameron lookalike though.

He's in that awkward kinda-getting-fat stage ... he either needs to commit to his workout or his Domino's regimen.

Manchester mayor Andy Burnham would make a great Labour leader....maybe one day.

I like Kier. I also like Burnham, a definitely possibility for future leader if he can remain popular in the North.
Corbyn has the astuteness of a eraser. I don't actually disagree with him that the claims were overstated, but his handling of them and the situation was diabolical and showed a complete lack of awareness of public perception, as is making this claim at this time.
Kier did the right thing. It is symbolic if nothing else, of the big changes in Labour. And as the Tories continue to embarrass themselves weekly, he is setting himself in good standing.
