Four year old drifts out to sea on inflatable Unicorn.
Where the hell were her parents? How can you take your eyes off a 4 year old when she is playing in the sea?
"A four-year-old girl who drifted out to sea on a unicorn inflatable was "frozen from fear" as she held on for her life, says the hero captain who helped rescue her.
Grigoris Karnesis and his crew were stunned when they spotted the terrified child floating in the water on their route between Rio and Antirrio.
The wind and powerful current had swept the child away from a beach where she was with her parents, and she was almost half a mile from the shoreline when Mr Karnesis carefully moved his ferry into position so the girl could be saved in the Gulf of Corith.
Mr Karnesis told Protothema: “The little one was not cool. She was frozen from her fear because the current was very strong. "
Footage of the extraordinary incident show the little girl sitting calmly as the boat crew plucks her to safety."

Re: Four year old drifts out to sea on inflatable Unicorn.
When will people realise these inflatables are for swimming pools not rivers and open sea.
If they were intended for use on the shore line they should have tethers on them like surfboards so parents can hang on to them, although even that wouldn't be safe really.
She must have been terrified poor little might. I wonder where they hail from - hopefully not the UK.

On the plus side, the unicorn was still smiling.
Wise advice, Vintage. I agree.

OMG Vic, that's socialist.
There probably should be repercussions, but it's Greece after all. It was inland waters, being the Gulf of Corinth. But still, there is no excuse for not looking after one so young.

Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for kids this age.
At least they had enough sense to put floaties on her.
Did the parents even know she was missing?
Never mind. I read the article, they eventually figured it out.

yeah, well i figured that it isnt the kids fault, being so young, and we had best prevent the idiot parents reproducing any more
but then i reckon i'd sterilise anyone who doesnt manage at least 5 gcse results at grade c or above.
we have let idiots breed too freely, when in the past poverty disease and starvation would have limited their numbers, hell we even let em vote. Its contaminating the human genome.

Today it would be because of the politics I support or the colour of my skin....back then it was simply because at 15 me and millions others had to get out to work full time to bring home a pay packet.

Well, you seem to have amassed more wisdom than members here who never fail to let us know how educated they are.
Your child probably returns your calls too.
