BREAKING NEWS: The world is mostly okay
In a move that sent shock waves around the globe, world leaders and other prominent figures today released a joint statement stating that the world is mainly okay and that most people are neither dangerous nor in any immediate or serious danger.
They state that:
* Your chances of dying from Covid-19, or at the hands of a right- or left-wing radical, are very small.
* The probability that you will ever encounter a person who is capable of murder at all, let alone motivated to murder you in particular, is extremely low.
* You will not likely die young from a painful, rare disease, because such diseases are rare.
* The vast majority of police officers and members of ethnic groups different from your own mean you no harm. Many of them would actually help you out if you were to ask.
* And that most of the things that are currently troubling the average person will be little more than vague memories within five years' time.
The statement has been met with incredulity and ridicule by a wide range of people who have a place to live, enough food to get by, and enough money to access the internet.

I’d say that is pretty accurate. People like to have something to worry about, or somebody to hate, or some issue that they need to froth over.
People need to chill.
People need to chill.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: The world is mostly okay
The world seems to be going to hell in a handcart. Worldwide Covid-19, killing hundreds of thousands.
Race unrest in the US and in many other cities worldwide.
Brazil in meltdown.
Climate change is still a huge concern, despite the virus putting it on the back burner.
Fury over police brutality.
Uncertainty over Brexit.
The global economy has crashed. Tension in the middle east.
ISIS and Al Qaeda still at large and active.
Tension growing between North and S Korea.
Russia flexing it's muscles.
China waiting to take over the financial and manufacturing industries of the world.
At least Farage and Hopkins no longer have a platform to spew their bile.

Hasn’t that always been the case, Brutus? When was the last time there was nothing to get antsy over?

Re: BREAKING NEWS: The world is mostly okay
I didn't mean to say that there aren't people whose lives are full of turmoil right now -- there always will be. But most people, at any given moment, are not one of them.
So if you're not one of them, there's no reason to feel undue stress about their problems. Help if you can, speak out if you're moved to, but save your energy for the problems that crop up in your own life.

This song came out about when I was born. I play it for young people, and older people who are ignorant of history.
We are living in far better times than we were over 50 years ago.
Especially the people in third world countries.
