Trump's own son-in-law is advising him to keep quiet. Apparently, the son-in-law knows Trump's tendency to say the wrong thing, at the wrong time.

He's rhetoric really isn't helping. But besides reeling that back, what would you have him do?

Go on national TV.
Apologise for the actions of racist police and tell the country it will no longer be accepted or tolerated. Furthermore any malpractice by cops will result in immediate dismissal and arrest.
Lift the ban on ANTIFA and speak to their representives, at a joint meeting with the far right .
Otherwise there could be a bloody and expensive civil war on top of the carnage caused by coronavirus.
He might suggest also that he will not stand for re-election.

How do you know who they are? They don't wear badges or scarves. They have no offices, nor a Secretary-General. They are simply a philosophy.

Well, it appears he is doing something, which I think will make things worse.

People have had it. They are tired of government telling them to stay home. They are tired of government killing them, they are tired of miscreants attacking innocent people and their property and turning the US military loose on it's citizens will just make things worse.

Trump does have the Insurrection Act of 1807, by which he might call up the military.

If anyone is listening, I told you so.  I said, at the end of his term he will call up the military and somehow create an excuse to find some way to usurp constitutional law and stay in office.

He may call up the military to quell the riots, or to force people back to work (contrary to pandemic rules), but watch: he will have the services to enforce his edicts about no elections, or election suppression, or anything that maintains him in office.

There is no violence from the left. Do you have us confused with 1917 Russia? 1930's Spain? The left wants to solve problems. It is the right that wants to create problems.

It is the frustration that intensifies, and prompts extremism. Frustration over racism, economic injustice, and raw brutality. As always, the right mimics the left, and adds fuel to the fire by throwing in violence. That is why you see Nazi and Confederate flags in their rallies, and marchers with their AR-15's slung over their shoulders...and someone always gets killed don't they?
