Turkey invades Syria, Trump approves
Turkey does not like the Kurds, a people populating the eastern part of Turkey, No. Iraq, No. Iran and NE Syria. However, the Kurds have been US allies, in the fight against ISIS. The US backs and arms them.
However, without consulting our military, diplomatic and strategic intelligence, Trump impetuously decided to withdraw US backing, and move all our troops out of the area, leaving Turkey to have at the Kurds. With partners like the US, the Kurds don't need enemies. However, they can be expected to be crushed by Turkish forces.
What of the thousands of ISIS prisoners being held by our allies, the Kurds? Is this move signaling the resurgence of Al-Qaeda and ISIS?

The Kurds have been thrown under the Bus to appease Turkey by Trump
I hope the Kurds will some day find self determination and a nation of their own

Consider the possibility that Putin is behind all this. After all, now the only big dog in the region is Russia.

It could well be the case, but Turkey has always looked for a chance to deny the Kurds a chance of independence
All Putin, Trump and China are giving a green light for Turkey to attack the Kurds. This will be the undoing of Trump
Many Us vets fought alongsisde Kurds against ISIS

Not for long, if Turkey doesn't mend its ways. Republicans in the Senate are contemplating a motion to remove Turkey from NATO. It's the first sign of a real wedge we've witnessed between Trump and his own party.
Turkish planes are lifting off from Incirlik Base, long an American anchor base in the eastern Med region. Wouldn't it be comical if American planes lifted off from there too, to shoot down Turkish planes. No matter...we've got at least two super-carriers in the region, and Navy aviators are better than Air Force.

Turkey's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has threatened to send "millions" of Syrian refugees to Europe in response to criticism of his military offensive into Kurdish-controlled northern Syria.
Speaking to his party, Mr Erdogan said Turkish forces had killed 109 "militants" since the operation began on Wednesday, and warned he would "open the doors" to spark a new refugee crisis in Europe if the EU called it an "invasion."
"Hey EU, wake up. I say it again: if you try to frame our operation there as an invasion, our task is simple: we will open the doors and send 3.6 million migrants to you," he said.

How hateful can an Islamist leader be to use refugees as blackmail. In order to have people turn a blind eye to his genocidal campaign against the Kurds?

I saw Trump in a news conference where he said that ISIS fighters would be fleeing back to their homes in Europe.

ISIS is not going to go away. Before they were ISIS, they were Al-Qaeda. Before that, they were the Baath Party. If they let loose thousands of radicals, it will be the mother of all 9/11's.
Stupid to think that they would contain themselves to Europe.
