Good Book

So I picked this up on the off chance because I love their music. It’s really good so far. I’m about halfway through. But there’s always been something about Neil Young that bugs me. I’ve never figured out what.
I usually find books about singers or groups to be badly written or boring but this isn’t. It mentions a lot of other singers in that early era like Joni Mitchell, Mama Cass etc...so you get a glimpse of them too.
Then Marrakech Express came on the radio tonight as I was driving home so I must go and look for their CDs I have somewhere.

Why does Neil Young bug you, out of interest? Did he steal your cookies?

Hahahaha. I honestly don’t know. His lyrics are good, the tunes are good, I start singing along and then I’m like wait. There’s something not quite right. It’s been driving me nuts for decades.

He doesn’t sing well. Maybe that’s it. I can’t always listen to him either.
