Green stripes = good. Red stripes =bad.
Because the issue has been raised in another thread, just wondered what others thought of the and the red stripe.
Personally I dont need praise or condemnation for posts I make....either read them or dont, like them or dont, I dont need a coloured star to let me know if I have done good or bad like a kid in school.
I also agree that some people use them just to have a go at the poster not the post....and some of the that are rewarded for the most mundane of posts, make me think that some people are not using the system wisely.

Oh...and before anyone bothers, this isn't a trouble causing thread, it is a genuine question wondering if anyone cares one way or the other.
If there was a vote, I think I would vote to get rid of the system altogether.

Re: Green stripes = good. Red stripes =bad.
It's the secrecy behind the red that I dislike.
The recipient usually shouts "who gave me that red"?
In the manner of asking "who just sneakily farted"?
Then everyone looks around the room & people feel guilty even if they're innocent.
IMO, keep the green awards & scrap the red.
The green could then be rationed, then the issue of giving it undeservedly wouldn't arise. That could be fun.
A very beautiful & positive solution.
But if it's too much trouble, leave the system in place, intact ….. for now …….

@ the bib.
I know who gives me most of my reds...no need to ask,
I would like the posters name to pop up everytime a green was given, so I could thank them.
This is just a lighthearted thread, I think the forum system works well as it is....but it's always interesting to find out what others think.

Greens add to you rep points......reds just decorate the edge of the page....

I don't give reds, either. You are penalized an hour on flood control if you do. So I stick with greens.

Not sure why Rags got a red for that, she gave a valid opinion.
I agree with it too. Some people award these points because they like or dont like the poster....nothing to do with the content of the post, so either keep both or get rid of both, imo it makes sense.

I rarely give reds - I’ve given them and then commented afterwards so people may assume it’s me - but I think the system works fine.
Sometimes I’ve greened or redded simply by scrolling and hitting the button by mistake and if I’ve done with a red then I always feel rather bad.
