Supermarket worker's body found behind freezer 10 years after his disappearance
Police believe Larry Ely Murillo-Moncada, 25, fell into a gap between the back of the freezer and a wall, where he became trapped.

How do you become trapped and no one hears you? This story is weird.
Ten years after going missing, a supermarket worker has been found dead in a gap behind a freezer in the store - where he is thought to have taken a break.
Police in the mid-western US state of Iowa say the parents of Larry Ely Murillo-Moncada, who was 25 at the time, reported him missing in November 2009 after he became upset and ran out of their home.
His body was discovered by workers removing shelves and freezers from the now-closed down No Frills store in the city of Council Bluffs in January this year.
Investigators believe Mr Murillo-Moncada fell into an 18-inch gap between the back of the cooler and a wall, where he became trapped.
They claim any attempts by him to call out for help, were muffled by the noise of the coolers' compressors.
No evidence of foul play was found and forensics used DNA from his parents to identify him.
It is understood the store shut in 2016, but that his body lay in the building for seven years before that.
Council Bluffs Police Department has closed the case and says his death is being treated as an accident.

Or smells you? They say the compressor noise drowned out any cries for help, but he must have been rotting back there.
And he told nobody that he was climbing on top of the freezer? If true, that's a pretty dumb move.

It doesn’t sound logical to me at all. It’s also really sad that the died that way. It’s a really horrible way to die too.
But something doesn’t really add up in my opinion.

Why is it a horrible way to die, I remember you don't think the way something dies is relevant, or is that only other species.eddie wrote:It doesn’t sound logical to me at all. It’s also really sad that the died that way. It’s a really horrible way to die too.

I’m not contradicting what you’re saying, but what makes you think that I don’t care how something dies? I find that interesting that you’d say that.

Bet his real name was arthur.......
wanted by the police for murder
the report states that arthur (AKA Arti, to his mates) was a down at heel hit man who was hired for £1 to murder a blokes wife for sleeping around. He was given a photo and advised of the time when she would visit the local Tesco super store.
he hid and waited....and finally in walked a leggy bloned who looked like the proposed victim...so he grabbed her, dragged her behind the freezers and strangled he...as he left he saw a second almost identical woman, and, scared of loosing his miniscule payment also grasbbed her and strangled her too.
it was reported in the press that Arti chokes two for a pound in Tescos.
(Ok...I'll get me coat.......)

I'd like to know the manufacturer, make and model of those freezers in that former supermarket...
Pretty damn good if they ran on for another 7+ years there after his death, with zero maintenance and cleaning ?

i'm guessing dying isn't much fun no matter how it occurs but in his case it would have taken some days to dehydrate and have his organs slowly shut down one by one all the while being petrified and panicking.
sounds like a shit party to me

Poor soul.
I hope that his family and anyone else who's been looking for him can at least have some closure - despite the awfulness of what happened.

Strange story. Implausible explanation.
And since no one has mentioned it, I have to ask this: (sorry to be so graphic).... before this alleged accident happened, was the normal smell in shop so bad that no one realised when a dead man started rotting away in the room? C'mon, even a tiny dead baby bird in the woods produces a disgusting smell, let alone an 80kg human in a confined space.
What a horrible way to die, poor chap!

I agree. How did no one smell a rotting corpse? And how come no one said “Hey where’s Larry...haven’t seen him for hours/days...?”
