I understand the message, but feel I must defend a few of those stats.

1. There are a lot more minor offences that are considered 'crimes' in those 4 countries than in many parts of the world. Hence I'd feel safer walking the streets of Paris, Berlin or London than the streets of Rio, Cape Town or Mumbai.

2. How many Middle-Eastern, African and indeed Asian countries would 'rape' simply be dismissed or considered no offence at all in certain circumstances?

9. The USA being at number 1 here is pretty terrible, especially since China is much bigger and jails people for 'political' crimes....

I reckon those figures might be ranking the countries on a "per 100,000" head-of-population basis, rather than simply on the sum totals...

So even though China would be #1 overall in some categories -- such as prisoners, or overall pollution -- because the USA has only a quarter of China's population, it may be doing worse on a per capita basis.

As for rape figures in Canada and Australia, people are likely to be more willing to report those crimes, then they might in many parts of Africa, the Middle East, S.E. Asia -- while in some of those places, rapes might also be more likely to result in murders, as well.
