EXCLUSIVE: We'll write your PhD thesis... for £6,173! British students cheat their way to doctorates by paying companies to write their dissertations

British students are cheating their way to PhDs by paying companies thousands of pounds to write their dissertations for them, a MailOnline investigation has revealed.

'Essay mill' firms are offering to write entire theses on demand, with one telling a reporter posing as a student: ‘You just need to write your name on the top’.

Three companies, King’s Academic Help, PhD Dissertation and British Dissertation Editors, said they would sell PhD dissertations for between £2,559 and £6,173, with higher fees demanded for better grades.

A salesman for King’s Academic Help said: ‘We will write the complete dissertation from scratch. Once you will receive the work, all you will have to do is write your name on it and submit it to your mentor.'

I heard this being discussed on LBC a couple of months ago... a woman phoned in saying that she worked for a company that does this, and that it was almost exclusively foreign students here in UK who were buying these dissertations... and the vast majority of them were Chinese...!


She also said that it was quite common for these students to phone up and order several of these dissertations to be done for them in one phone call... and would quite happily pay the tens of thousands of pounds right away with their debit/credit cards, without hesitation or any care about the amount of money they were handing over...!

I very much doubt that and would take that claim with a pinch of salt

I mean you are normally a great proponent of IQ and which the Chinese and Ashkenaz Jews have the highest on average

The average IQ of a national/racial group does not mean that all of those people have the same IQ level... or are equally academically able...


Also... it could be more to do with the fact that a foreign student here in UK would likely have a lower level of understanding and writing of the English language and subsequently have a negative effect on the quality of any work that they may produce themselves, and lower grades... so a better option to get these dissertations done for them for that reason...


Or maybe they have just got so much money and it's easy for them to buy these works rather than to put the effort in themselves...

I understand what you are saying Tommy, but its the views of one person, which need and require evidence to back up

Of course they could be right, but being that the majority of chinese people are brought up with an ethos to work hard and do well. I struggle to believe what this person is claiming

She said that nearly all the students who were calling her company and buying these dissertations were foreign... and the largest percentage group of these foreign students were Chinese...


You can't just start dismissing the possibility of certain racial/national groups of your preference from being involved in this, just because you have a preconceived idea about how honest and hard working you think they all are... while automatically thinking that only certain other groups must be the ones involved, depending on your preconceived negative views on them...!

Well for a start there is no view to racial stances based on ethnicity

Hence why I take such a stance with a pinch of salt and not only that. You are talking the word of a caller. Who offers nothing to substanciate their claim. Not only that, why would ethnicity even play a factor here?

You have people that cheat within any ethnic group. Hence I take as suspect someone who offers no evidence and then claims and points out one ethnic group, which she could never hope to know that they are chinese. I mean do they say this over the phone?

Does it say on the request form, what ethnicity they are?

That is why the claim falls apart. I have no doubt that this company claims to write dissertations, for some cheaters, but here is the real kicker for you tommy. They are being written by Africans lol in Kenya in this case.

But since I have posted up that it is overwhelming vast majority of people using this cheater service are foreigners here in UK, and large number of these are reportedly Chinese... you have gone into denial mode...!

Why do you have to bring race into this?

It was what the woman said, she phoned in on a radio discussion about the selling of dissertations, saying she worked for a company that did this, and the customers were almost exclusively foreign students here in UK, and she said the largest group of these were Chinese...!

this is the Rich Chinese,
the Phd from a western university is just a status symbol to them (bought or earned doesn't matter). they are the children of billionaires (at least 100's of millions) 10s of 1000's is nothing, in suburbs around the universities there is a problem with them just dumping their cars when they leave to go back to China and we're not talking junkers, near new Porsche, Luxury sport Ranger Rovers, the sort of car most people could never afford, left abandoned for council pick up!!

They are pretty much all going back straight into Junior executive roles in the families (or connections) companies.

Another reason why this is probably going on here in UK is that foreign students get to stay here in UK after completing their studies... so just another way to get into the UK and live here...!

Nah they just want to buy property in London   (the passport was a bonus but that will change with Brexit)
Sometime there is 'plans for expansion' and they send a kid off to UK, USA and often Australia too, although we are often first stop, a practice round, they pick up masters and pre-phd degrees and they can learn conversational English and western cultural nuances at the same time

they could already live there.... they have the cash to go where ever the hell they want.

Since Tommy said, I have been looking into and this seems to be happenning in a few countries

I stand corrected

PhD's are not products for purchase. They must involve the participation of the recipient, 90 - 10%. S/he must pass prelim exams and write a dissertation.

PhD's for sale are fakes. Who would pay for a fake?
