Re: Scott Walker RIP.
I cant believe that no one has passed condolences or comment on the death of possibly one of the best musicians in the last 60 years.
Just to even up the lack of interest....here is another of his brilliant early recordings.

Well, I've never heard of him. Listened to the songs and he reminds me of Tom Jones.Syl wrote:I cant believe that no one has passed condolences or comment on the death of possibly one of the best musicians in the last 60 years.

He was American born too....though he did become a Brit citizen after his career took off in the 60's.
His music is still played quite a lot here.

So he's a traitor?
No wonder I never heard of him.

I'm only 25.
But in any case, he was younger than Tom Jones, The Beatles, and decades younger than Sinatra, and you have heard of them.

I've heard of T Bone Walker, maybe they were kin?
There is an odd phenomenon that I've noticed. There are Americans that have done very well in other countries, and are virtually unknown here.

Walker was his professional name, he was born Scott Engel.
As the Walker brothers they did have early hits in the US, but like you say, they were one of the bands....before Scott went solo, who definitely had more success here than in America.
We have lots of Brit born artists who have been successful here and flopped in the States...Cliff Richard is probably the most famous one,
