Vegan parents almost starve their five-month-old son to death by switching out his doctor-prescribed formula for one 'more consistent with their lifestyle'

A vegan Florida couple allegedly almost starved their five-month-old son to death after switching out his doctor-prescribed formula for an internet concoction made of mashed potatoes. Julia French, 20, and Robert Buskey, 31, of Titusville, Florida, were charged with neglect after investigators found the infant weighed only 8 pounds, 8 ounces after being recorded at birth at 7 pounds, 9 ounces, according to WFTV news.

The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) said the boy was obviously malnourished with his ribs visible and eyes appearing sunken.

'At one point, when the child was doing good and healthy and gaining weight, he was on an organic formula and they changed it on their own,' said Titusville Police Detective Lauren Watson. 'I've never seen a child to this level, this close to possible death.'

It's not good enough to simply jail parents like these, and remove their children...

They should be forcibly sterilised at the same time, as well..

You can't make their inbred stupidity illegal, but you can slow its spread.

Maybe the woman wasn't producing breast milk, or are their vegans that think the mothers breast milk is an animal product?

The majority of vegan and vegetarian parents are most likely still intelligent enough as to keep on listening to their doctors, paeditricians, community nurses or whatever the case may be,  and keep on using proper supplements and healthy diets for the first few years of their childrens growth and development...

Every few months, though, you read about these more extreme cases, ignoring those who do know better, and turning to their online guru's/scamsters/homeopaths instead;  not giving a damn about their baby's health..

vegans are morons pure and simple.

they claim veganism is natural, but there has never been a time in histroy where a group of humans have existed on a purely plant based diet.

there is a youtube video of some ex vegan detailing her journey to turning away from veganism, it took her and her boyfriend 5 years to realize that it wasnt working out for them, it took the bloke almost dying for him to finally eat some meat which is what doctors had been telling them for the full 5 year period
