Tony Blair, The Master Criminal (Just Helping Out A Phone-Hacking Friend)
19th February 2014
As members of the once great United Kingdom, you are all aware that in his many years at the top, the only good things Blair did was help our friends the Americans out in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Well, here's some more sliminess he's been up to:
Tony Blair told News International executive Rebekah Brooks "tough up" and "definitely sleeping pills" when she asked him for guidance amid the phone-hacking claims, a court heard.
Prosecutors have told jurors at the Old Bailey that Mr Blair had an hour-long telephone call with Brooks in July 2011, the details of which she disclosed to her News Corporation boss James Murdoch in an email.
The email was sent at 4.21pm on July 11, 2011, the day after the final edition of News of the World was published and just days before her arrest.
According to the email, which was shown to jurors, Mr Blair suggested "no rash short-term solutions as they only give you long-term headaches".
He allegedly added: "It will pass. Tough up."
Brooks said in her email, which summed up the former Prime Minister's advice in five points, that Mr Blair had offered to be an "unofficial adviser" to her, James Murdoch and Rupert Murdoch but that it must "be between us".
In the email she said Mr Blair advised her to establish a Hutton-style report, into the claims using an "independent unit" comprised of "an outside junior counsel, Ken Macdonald, a great and good type, a serious forensic barrister, internal counsel, proper fact-checkers etc in it."
She said in the telephone conversation he suggested that part one of the report should be published at the same time that police closed their inquiry and "clear you and accept your shortcomings and new solutions and process" with part two to be published when any trials were over.

Surprised there hasn't been a take up on this thread.
Has bliar admitted the Hutton report was a complete sham ?
That is how I have read the email and notes but maybe my interpretation is skewed as I have never been a fan if his.
Pmqs tomorrow might be a tad interesting if the Tory backbench grandees get called .................. Much has been made by Milli and co regarding DCs friendship with Brookes, which is all it is, they live in the same village.
Somewhat different to actually helping and advising.

Things are starting to come unstuck for Labour: Regular dollops of more promising news about the economy; today's paedophila scandal and now this.
And to think that there are still people who want to see this bunch of wreckers returned to power
