Mother and her baby daughter are killed by a GRIZZLY BEAR while spending maternity leave at a remote Canadian cabin
Canadian schoolteacher Valerie Theoret, 37, was mauled to death by a bear along with her 10-month-old daughter, Adele Roesholt, Monday
Mom and baby were out for a walk near their cabin on Einarson Lake in the Yukon territory when the grizzly bear attacked and killed them
When Theoret's boyfriend returned, the same bear attacked him as well, but the man was able to kill the animal
Gjermund Roesholt then approached the cabin and found the bodies of his girlfriend and baby
The family had spent the past three months at the remote cabin trapping animals in the woods
A Canadian schoolteacher and her 10-month-old daughter were mauled to death by a grizzly bear this week while taking a walk outside their remote cabin, where the family had been staying during her maternity leave.
Gjermund Roesholt returned to the cabin near Einarson Lake in the Yukon territory at around 3pm Monday to find the lifeless bodies of his partner, 37-year-old Valerie Theoret, and their baby girl, Adele Roesholt.
CBC News reported that the bear that killed Roesholt's family was still roaming about and charged at him, prompting the man to shoot and kill the animal.

That’s so sad and I bet they were having some lovely, peaceful quality time together too.
Poor guy finding them like that too.

'Poetic' natural justice...
The family had spent three months there trapping and killing animals -- not as a living, or to survive, but as a holiday/past-time.
Then, one grizzled old bear turns the tables on them, and manages to kill 2 out of the 3 interlopers..
I also notice that the man was armed, and shot the bear.
Fulltime Score : Nature = 3 humans vs. Humans = 1 bear (plus those untold numbers of critters they had previously trapped just for the fun of it..).

Lucky they didn't encounter a Polar Bear up there. Only about 3 times larger.

Why would you be wandering about in a place where you knew bears were without protection. Aren't you supposed to have bells on your packs, to make a noise to, well I'm not sure whether you give bears notice you are coming along and to get out the way or whether you are ringing the dinner bell for bears. I heard you were supposed to make a noise but maybe I've been watching the wrong programmes.
The Alaska programmes have well armed people sneaking up on bears and dispatching them.

I guess if they ate them when they killed them then that would be okay and we could all have sympathy for the woman and child who are dead.
Yeah. Makes sense.
