#HimToo: Twitter mocks mother's viral post on son's 'false accusations' dating fears
A mother has been ridiculed for posting a tweet in which she claimed her son did not go on solo dates over fears of "false sexual accusations".
The since-deleted tweet by @MariaReynoldsC3 read: "This is MY son. He graduated #1 in boot camp. He is a gentleman who respects women.
"He won't go on solo dates due to the current climate of false sexual accusations by radical feminists with an axe to grind."
The post, which was accompanied by a picture of her son in a Navy uniform, quickly went viral.
The tweet had been widely shared, immediately casting him as the poster boy for the #HimToo movement.
The movement has recently been seen by some as the antithesis of the #MeToo movement, suggesting that in the wake of the Brett Kavanaugh scandal men are frequently victims of false sexual assault accusations and that many accusers are liars.

You seriously think he'd get into trouble by going on one-on-one dates?

Whether he is a sex maniac, or the victim of "false sexual accusations by radical feminists with an axe to grind," he's protected if he's in the company of others. Plus, there's plenty of cameras around if he stays out of any private homes/apartments.
It's all good.

So it sounds as though you're buying 100 percent into this narrative being pushed by the right, that all men need to be afraid of being falsely accused.

My comment was cross-conditional--"whether he is [1] a sex maniac, or [2] the victim of 'false sexual accusations by radical feminists with an axe to grind'"--allowing for either possibility. I don't know how you would know which way I'm going.
The one known quantity is, if he isn't in the company of others he's making himself vulnerable. Ergo: Don't go alone.

But that's bullshit! And you are definitely buying into this false narrative of the world crawling with women just waiting for an excuse to falsely accuse a man of rape.
Re: #HimToo: Twitter mocks mother's viral post on son's 'false accusations' dating fears
That's the most regressive fucking bullshit I can think of. It's divide and conquer assholery and we should see that by now.
How many times are we going to fall for it?
"All Muslims are terrorists. All soldiers are baby killers."
"All black people are criminals. All cops are racist."
"All Christians hate gays. All gays hate Christians."
"All women want to get men locked up. All men want to rape women."
Fuck that shit!

Re: #HimToo: Twitter mocks mother's viral post on son's 'false accusations' dating fears
If everyone had this lads outlook on life no one would ever do anything.
Everytime we meet someone new we trust they are who they say they are, 99% of the time they are.
What a sad world it would be if we were afraid of people wanting to hurt us all the time.

Absurd reasoning and I will easly prove why
There has been a number of cases in the UK. Where a number of men have been falsely accused of rape.
A vast numbr of these women have gotten away without any justifcation by the law. Though this is starting to change
So if any of these men, which have been fasely accused, feel they are too afraid to date again. Which a number do, where their lives have been ruined by such accusations. Would you say that is as you say "fucking absurd"?
How about the number of either men or women who have been raped?
Where some cannot go out again with someone due to this?
How about those raped as children?
Then there will be family and friends aware of this and all leads to fear building and growing
I am yet to see many believe that:
"All Muslims are terrorists. All soldiers are baby killers."
"All black people are criminals. All cops are racist."
"All Christians hate gays. All gays hate Christians."
"All women want to get men locked up. All men want to rape women."
That is not the case here and thus if someone reads within the media a number of cases that involve false allegations and then feels fear in going out with someone. The the fault lies within the media helping to fuel fears within people.
What will happen is a natural fear will grow within some people who are more prone to anxiety or mental health issues.
Some people will rightfully feel scared not to and bashing them is hardly going to help overcome those fears. That have been formed due to high profile cases or other men they have talked to where this has happened.
Hence your views are not helping but adding to the problem

Re: #HimToo: Twitter mocks mother's viral post on son's 'false accusations' dating fears
I’ve been spending a lot of time talking to men about gender relations lately. I’ve talked to older working men, who are afraid to interact with their female coworkers and accidentally say something that could be construed as harassment. I’ve talked to millennial men on the dating scene, who are increasingly afraid of women they’re with falsely claiming assault. I’ve talked to taken men, who even in mature relationships fear that the tides could turn, and she could come out with a story of rape as an act of revenge.
These fears aren’t entirely unfounded. 2% to 10% of formal rape accusations are found to be unsupported. I personally know men these things have happened to.
As a feminist, I know I’m ‘supposed’ to be on the side of the women in this story. And believe me, I want to be. No victim deserves to be left behind. But the more I talk to these men, the more something about these stories sticks out to me.
What separates a sexual experience from sexual violence is consent.

I don’t think these women are victims.
Yes, these women have had negative sexual experiences. Sometimes profoundly negative. But the fact that the sexual experience was negativedoesn’t mean it was assault.I think they consented.

However there is certainly men out there afraid to even talk to women, as they have had false accusations against them

I merely gave three various possibilities there, Dodge :
That he could be gay (just look at that effete photo of him..);
That he likes playing around (i.e. the "loose wimmin'" reference);
or maybe that he simply isn't really interested in dating random women...
You're the one concentrating on the 'possibly gay' aspect..

Mr Hanson has made it clear he did not approve of his mother's message, posting on Twitter: "That was my Mom.
"Sometimes the people we love do things that hurt us without realising it. Let's turn this around. I respect and #BelieveWomen . I never have and never will support #HimToo.
"I'm a proud Navy vet, Cat Dad and Ally. Also, Twitter, your meme game is on point."
Mr Hanson's brother, Jon, also distanced himself from his mother's post, calling it "ridiculous"

Re: #HimToo: Twitter mocks mother's viral post on son's 'false accusations' dating fears
If we close ourselves off from people because we decide to negatively judge then based on fear, then we are no longer free. We are no longer open to meeting new people, or falling in love, forming friendships.
What’s the point in a life like that?
And there is one thing we all have that we should learn to cultivate and use: intuition.
Then we can avoid potential dangerous situations.

Yeah, no. You're not pulling me down your own rabbit hole.
You agreed with her premise, and that's a bullshit thing to do, because it basically would mean the world is just crawling with wicked false rape-accusing women and poor wittle Brett Kavanaugh is just a victim! And many other like him/who like him.

You are attributing to me the 'why' of her proposition--which you call her "premise". I'm standing back, and not even treading on that subject. I'm just saying, whatever her reasons, her solution can't go wrong.
