NEW BRITAIN, Pennsylvania -- A mother is being held in jail on a $3 million bond after police say her infant son died because her breast milk was tainted with a lethal combination of drugs.

The child of Samantha Whitney Jones, 30, of New Britain Township, Pa., was only 11 weeks old when it died in April, lehighvalleylive.com reports. Jones was charged with homicide last week, mccall.com reports.

The boy's death was the result of a combination of methadone, amphetamine and methamphetamine, according to an autopsy.

So sad; she says she was just trying to comfort the crying baby and didn't realize what would happen. Of course, she may have done it deliberately, as she had recently switched to formula and then switched back to breastfeeding the day the baby died.

You’d have to be entirely stupid to not know that breast milk will be affected by drugs. My guess is....she didn’t care.

It's still more pc rubbish...

I guess now we'll have booths at the pharmacy where for $10 you can get your boobs tested...must have a certificate of testing and approval for each week of use.

Protesters stand outside, holding up bras and chanting: Lock 'em up...lock 'em up!

I’m sure that all those substances she took are not physically addictive so she made a choice, knowing that she could affect her baby.
