Re: Happy Fathers Day.
Here is an interesting observation.
Fathers day thread received zero replies and scant views.
The mothers day thread earlier in the year received 65 replies and 650 views.
Does this mean there are no dads on the forum??....or are fathers just not as important in society as mothers are?

Yep.
Sad in a way too.
We befriended a person and have often included him in our family life, when Mothers day comes round I always get a gift, flowers and a card even though I am not this persons mum or nana.
My husband, who has always been so very thoughtful towards this person does get a card and a pressie from him for Fathers day, but it's often days late (nothing this year so far)....which sort of devalues the thought in my opinion.

I think your 2nd choice hits directly on the mark. It only exists because Hallmark makes money off cards made for the occasion.

Re: Happy Fathers Day.
You old cynic you.
Hallmark wouldnt have made any money from dads being sent a good wish on here....just as they didnt when mums were sent good wishes via the forum.
Maybe people just dont think dads are worth a specal mention.

I think you are right.
I don't know what keeps Father's Day alive, if not Hallmark.

Re: Happy Fathers Day.
Fathers' Day in Oz falls in September...
Secondly, my father and grandfathers are long dead..
I simply don't celebrate Fathers' day..
