Trump/Border Patrol trafficking in children? Empty Trump/Border Patrol trafficking in children?

Post by Original Quill Tue May 29, 2018 6:25 pm

CNN reports that not only is the Trump administration separating children from their parents at the border, but they have lost track of about 1500 of them.  The program of separating children from their parents was the idea of Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Chief of Staff John Kelly, when he was Homeland Security Secretary.  It was a scheme intended as an added  punishment for those who approach the US seeking asylum.  Kelly ordered the program implemented on May 1, 2018.

However, even that mean-spirited agenda has gone awry as the unprepared US government, Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), has found itself ill-equipped to keep track of the children.  The last time such a program was tried, the children were found working in farms, with young girls being sold out for "services".

(CNN)The federal government has placed thousands of unaccompanied immigrant children in the homes of sponsors, but last year it couldn't account for nearly 1,500 of them.

Steven Wagner, a top official with the Department of Health and Human Services, disclosed the number to a Senate subcommittee last month while discussing the state of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) that oversees the care of unaccompanied immigrant children.

Wagner is the acting assistant secretary for the Administration for Children and Families, which is part of the Department of Health and Human Services. ORR is a program of the Administration for Children and Families.

CNN reported earlier this month that, in his testimony, Wagner said during the last three months of 2017, the ORR lost track of nearly 1,500 immigrant children it had placed in the homes of sponsors.

Wagner's statement has attracted more attention amid reports that immigrant children are being separated from their parents at the US border.

Wagner said the Department of Homeland Security referred more than 40,000 immigrant children to the ORR during the 2017 fiscal year.

Apparently, the children cease to become wards of the US government as soon as they are turned over to "foster" families.  Wagner reports to Congress:

CNN wrote:Between October and December 2017, Wagner told the subcommittee, the ORR reached out to 7,635 unaccompanied children to check on them. But the ORR "was unable to determine with certainty the whereabouts of 1,475 children," Wagner testified. An additional 28 had run away.

According to Wagner, that absolves the US of any responsibility.

CNN wrote:"I understand that it has been HHS's long-standing interpretation of the law that ORR is not legally responsible for children after they are released from ORR care."

The trafficking of children has been a long standing practice of unscrupulous Russian mafia mobs and eastern European gangs.  The monies derived from these operations are then cleansed through money laundering...first on the list, being real estate transactions.  Real estate markets are favored because they involve high dollar amounts, and fluctuations by which such transactions are easily hidden.  Donald Trump, who is being investigated for his connections with Russians, is privately a trader in real estate assets.  Trump, a friend of convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, has also been accused of paedophilia.  https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/donald-trump-rape-case_us_581a31a5e4b0c43e6c1d9834  It is hardly surprising to find the Trump administration adopting policies that, coincidentally, steer children into a system of involuntary servitude.

The Trump administration takes a staunch, unyielding stand on the matter:

CNN wrote:"Our policy is if you break the law, we will prosecute you," [present Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen] said. "You have an option to go to a port of entry and not illegally cross into our country."

She is silent on the wellbeing and whereabouts of the innocent children.
