You moan about privatisation, and say you want a UK govt to be in control of the UK... but you then say you support being in the EU, which sets rules for UK that require all public services to open up to tender to private companies to bid for contracts to provide these services, and for whatever govt we have here in UK to be subservient to EU dictatorship...!!!

Don't you realise that all the while we are in the EU, it doesn't really matter what govt we have, cos they are bound to accepting EU rules and doing what the EU tells them... NOT WHAT THE UK ELECTORATE TELL THE UK GOVT TO DO!!!???

Tom, I too have little trust in theEU beaurocracy, but my the trade off is simple trade movement and a huge open market for British firms to exploit.
There are so many things yet to sort out with Brexit which will cost a fortune.
Just 2 examples.
The Irish Border.
The EU pulling the plug on British access to the EU GPS satellites and systems..
Try Googling the cost of launching 15!!!! GPS carrying rockets .
Will add 10p on income tax.

It is not the UK who wishes to impose any border in Ireland... and Ireland doesn't want it either... it is the EU who are threatening to impose it...!

And they are doing this to try to throw a spanner in the works of UK leaving the EU...!

Although the answer is very simple...

The already proposed system of monitoring and processing the tiny amount of goods etc that moves between NI & Republic of Ireland by cameras that already exist at the 'border' and by also doing other computer/online based processing etc, is a completely plausible and easily workable solution...

Another part of this completely possible/sensible/practical/workable solution is for the EU to allow Ireland to have a special arrangement with the rest of the NI & UK...

And another simple solution would be the Republic of Ireland also leaving the EU... if they really don't want an EU imposed border being set up between them and NI...!!!

Also... the GPS stuff has been heavily funded by the UK... as has most of the EU and all that the EU 'owns'... WE HAVE PAID FOR MOST OF IT... SO WE OWN MOST OF IT ALREADY!!!

This could all be achieved with very little financial pain for anyone, provided everyone envolved acted like adults and got on with arranging Britain leaving the official club. There is no reason why we can't find a way to co operate on trade, security and everything else we now co operate on, why cut off the EU'S nose to spite Britain's face?
We still be in NATO, INTERPOL etc. Why some remainers keep on about isolating ourselves I don't know. The EU doesn't want to change or make consessions to countries that may have different needs, its one size fit all if that means a country being shoe horned into or rattling around a EU directive - tough.
