Toronto van swerves across four lanes to 'deliberately' hit pedestrians - witness
The van that hit pedestrians in Toronto swerved across four lanes to hit passers-by "deliberately", a witness has told Sky News.
A second witness told Sky News he believes the collision was "on purpose".
Up to 10 pedestrians have been hit in Toronto, Canada's largest city, police have said.
In a Twitter post, Toronto Police said it was "too early" to confirm the number of those injured or their injuries.
The police say they have arrested the driver of the van but have not given any details on age, gender or possible motive following the incident.
Police were called just before 1.30pm local time to the corner of Yonge Street and Finch Avenue, a busy area north of downtown Toronto where the van mounted the pavement and collided with pedestrians.

Using vehicles to harm and kill people is so scarily quick and impossible to stop.

Suspect Alek Minassian in custody
• 10 people dead, 15 wounded
• Police officer hailed a hero for not firing shot
• Investigators say no threat to national security
A van driver mounted a kerb and hit pedestrians in Toronto, Canada, on Monday, leaving nine people dead and 16 others injured.
Witnesses described seeing the vehicle swerve to deliberately hit pedestrians, leaving a pushchair "split in half" and hitting people sitting on a bench.
A man was later arrested after a tense stand-off with armed police, during which video footage showed him telling officers he had a gun and shouting: "Shoot me in the head".
He was named by police as Alek Minassian, a 25-year-old student.
Addressing a news conference in the evening, Mark Saunders, the Toronto police chief, said the suspect had not been armed and that there was nothing so far to suggest terrorism as a motive.
