RIP Ken Dodd

Comedy legend Sir Ken Dodd died on Sunday at the age of 90 having recently battled a severe chest infection
The Liverpool funnyman secretly married his partner of 40 years, Anne Jones, just 48 hours before he died
Marriage took place at home Sir Ken was born and died in, in Liverpool suburb of Knotty Ash he made famous
Sir Ken had six weeks of treatment earlier this year for a chest infection and was discharged two weeks ago
Comedians paid tribute on Twitter while his agent said 'the lights have been turned out in the world of variety'

I met him once, about 15 years ago when I worked in Liverpool at a software company. He was quite tall, and very ebullient. Seemed like a really nice man. I had my photo taken with him and he kept hugging me! Poor old Doddie! Another great entertainer gone.

RIP Ken Dodd....a comedy legend.

I think if anyone sits through one of his TV specials thinking they are not going to laugh at loud throughout....they would get a surprise.
He was genuinely funny, and according to every single person I have heard speaking about him, was a genuinely nice man too. x

My mum loved him. She especially loved his song 'tears'. I wasn't a fan.

He had a good long life, and never suffered at the end.
