Sometimes a random story can make you realise that really good people are living unnoticed all around us.

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/kind-train-passenger-leaves-%C2%A3100-on-sleeping-womans-lap-after-overhearing-money-worries/ar-BBIvlT3?li=AAmiR2Z&ocid=spartanntp

"A woman has thanked a stranger who left £100 on her lap as she slept on train, after overhearing her discussing her money problems on the phone to her mother.
Ella Johannessen said she was "stressed and upset" as she discussed her financial situation on her journey from Peterborough to Leeds.
She wrote in a Facebook post that she "was trying to locate what had [happened] to £35 that had been sent to me over a bank transfer."
She added: “I spoke to her about how little money I had, how worried I was about my finances and I got upset.”
After she finished her phone call she went to sleep.
“I woke up about half an hour later and noticed a napkin on my lap,” she wrote. “Under the napkin was £100. I started to cry — this is because I was incredibly thankful for your kindness to someone you don’t even know.
“After a terrible 18 months where I lost my father and both of his parents it showed me that there is kindness and good people in the world."
Ms Johannessen thanked the stranger and vowed to “pass on” the act of kindness.
“I hope you will eventually see this,” she added.
Her post has been shared more than 15,500 times, but Ms Johannessen said she has not found the stranger who left her the money.

That was so very nice of that person. Once I was doing a breakfast run to McDonalds and when I got to the payment window, the car ahead had paid for me, so I did it for the one behind me and it carried on. Apparently it went on for about an hour! Very cool

That's a brilliant idea Cass....though I can imagine people getting a bit peeved if they had a Mcmuffin for one and the car behind them had a large family. Laughing

I agree Mags....good news is a lot nicer to read than bad news....especially when its about normal people going about their normal business.

Most people are generally good. We get bombarded with negative stories creating bias in our thinking.

I agree...its just that the bad ones make the news a lot more often.

In real life, so far, I don't think I have ever encountered anyone I could term 'bad'...most people have some nice ways in you look hard enough..

I agree though being left money is pretty unheard of.

If i get rich enough that’s exactly how I’d rather spread my money - exactly like that - anonymously and in person rather than giving big dollops of it to charities.

Haha. There were more people behind but hey a couple of extra bucks was worth it to put a smile on someone’s face. Although I did check to make sure it wasn’t a bus full of football players lol!

Every so often on some of our local FB pagespeople talk about how someone bought them a coffee or paid for their dinner or groceries or people responding if someone is down on their luck or lost everything due to a fire. A good reminder to pay it forward as you never know if you’ll need help one day.

Yep...and doing a good term often makes you feel probably better than the person that received it.

I made  the balance up for someones groceries at the checkout a while ago...he was a few quid short, I had a quick look and he was buying cerials, milk, bread etc...no luxuries, I wouldn't have paid for them.
It genuinely made me happy....and he called me an angel, which made me even happier. grin angel

Not long after we had a blown tyre on a deserted road in Wales...up in the hills, OH's mobile wouldn't work, the spare was useless, and it was getting dark..we were miles from anywhere.
Two workmen stopped, helped us, let us use their phone (his network was more suitable than OH's so his phone could get a connection)to call home and the AA... they even said..'Dont worry, we will stay till help comes...and they did.

I wont ever forget those two men. Kindness is very far reaching.
