This is a beautiful compilation of sound interviews with some of the oldest people living in the United States in 1929. The footage comes from the early Movietone sound cameras.
The people in these clips were born between the 1820s to 1860s, which means some of them were adults when Lincoln was President.

Arrow

Seeing those people being interviewed back in the 1920s should remind us just how recent such events as the American Civil War, the "Indian Wars", and the 18th Century gold rushes were, in 'real world terms'...

How far the world has advanced and moved on in only the last 150 years..

And how far downhill civilisation has slid in that same period.
