For centuries, the fundamental principle underpinning British law has been ‘innocence until proven guilty’.

Nothing in the judicial system is more basic or more sacrosanct. But the insidious spread of a culture — inevitably driven by social media — that encourages us to see every woman as a potential or actual victim is destroying that foundation stone.

Increasingly, from the moment an allegation of rape is made, the police and judiciary tend to use language that implies it is based on fact and that all men are potential predators of women.

I agree with a lot of what she says.
The pendulum has swung too far in the other direction now re the way rape and sexual assault accusations are treated by the authorities..

There's a difference between gynocentric and feminism. Gynocentric is "centered on or concerned exclusively with women; taking a female point of view." We live in a gynocentric world: 'Women and children first' and chilvaristic notions like 'ladies before gentlemen'... gynocentric themes are not always in women's best interests.

For example, men have to have the means to pay for dinner, so of course he gets a bigger paycheck. To a feminist, that type of belief is a disbenefit of gynocentrism.

A lot of things that we ascribe to feminism are actually diametrically the opposite. Sometimes they overlap, but very often things like: 'hold the door', 'help her with her coat' and 'always seat a lady first', are anachronism that hold women back.

I don't think polite little mannerisms hold women back, any woman who ever objected to having a door held open or being helped on with her coat is probably a bra burning hatchet faced raging feminist who gives the rest of womankind a bad name. snobby

Men should not get bigger paychecks than women if they do the same job, makes no difference whether they pay for dinner or not, I don't think there is any connection.

It's usually bigger things than holding a door. It came up in the Supreme Court case of Craig v. Boren, a gender discrimination case over drinking age:

Recognizing that Reed v. Reed, 404 U.S. 71, and later cases establish that classification by gender must substantially further important governmental objectives...

Among other issues, the state argued that women should have a younger drinking age because their aim in life was marriage and a family, and they needed to socialize at a younger age in order to accomplish this. Clearly, this was a gynocentric, but anti-feminist position.

Many gynocentric customs apparently favoring women on the surface, actually work to the detriment of women. That's where feminists raise objections.

But that's a ridiculous law anyway...it deserved to be challenged and amended.

Obviously. But there's lots of things that are favorable on the surface, according to gnyocentric principles, but unfavorable under feminist principles.

The old excuse for paying men more at work was that men had to support a family. That men supported a woman was gynocentric, but that women made substantially less was anti-feminist. The old chivalric customs work against modern feminism.

And that's the kind of thing many of the gynocentric customs and mores run counter to. That's why many of the gynocentric principles are, logically, contrary to feminism.
