Wolf whistling cold become hate crime as sexist criminals face stiffer sentences
A scheme that could lead to sexism being made a hate crime with tougher sentences could be extended nationwide. Nottinghamshire Police introduced the trial last year in which it recorded incidents such as wolf whistling, street harassment, verbal abuse and taking photographs without consent as a hate crime.
Police chiefs are due to receive a full report on the pilot scheme and other forces around the country are said to have expressed an interest in following Nottinghamshire’s lead.
If adopted it could result in offenders being treated more harshly if they were misogynistic – defined by officers as ‘behaviour targeted towards women by men simply because they are a woman’.
Assistant chief constable Mark Hamilton, spokesman on hate crime at the National Police Chiefs’ Council, said he believed police were ‘going to take this forward’ when he was questioned about the pilot scheme at the Commons’ women and equalities committee.

Oh ffs, the country's gone mad. This is like the film 1984, never thought it would come to this. Next you'll be arrested for thinking something.

...and while the real old-fashioned, thief-catching plods are chewing the ends of their pencils in endless mandatory diversity and equality courses while being harangued by some recently graduated "D&E Team Leader" on why they should never refer to a "traveller" as a "pikey" on pain of immediate dismissal, the robbers, rapists, murderers and muggers are being handed wads of taxpayers' cash to pay for some shyster lawyer from Messrs Sue,Grabbitt & Runne to convince gullible beaks that their clients are the real "victims."
My late brother and my partner's late husband and my best mate were among those "real, old fashioned coppers."
Christ! They must be spinning in their graves.
