Vice President Mike Pence's office denies he wrote 'lodestar' Trump resistance op-ed for The New York Times
https://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/06/vice-president-mike-pence-office-denies-he-wrote-new-york-times-op-ed.html
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha..........Vice President Mike Pence's office is denying that he is the senior administration official behind an extraordinary, anonymous opinion essay describing a "resistance" against Failing Cheeto-Faced Ferret-Wearing Shit Gibbon within his own administration.
The article's publication in The New York Times set off a wave of intense speculation about the author's identity. Observers seized on the essayist's use of the word "lodestar," which Pence often uses in his speeches and statements, as possible evidence the op-ed came from the vice president or among his top staff.
The vice president's office "definitively denies" that he wrote the piece for the Times, according to NBC News.

Good evening Nicko.
I sometimes think that Lurker's whole philosophy is based on the concept that nagging is the repetition of unpalatable truths. (Not my definition: Edith Summerskill, Labour MP).
Trump may well be an A-grade areshole (even my staunchly Republican contacts in the good ol' U.S. of A despair of his manic behaviour!) but I sometimes can't help wondering whether Lurker is, in reality, a robot programmed to scour the internet for deprecatory Trumpisms with the express intention of making up the minds of the rest of us.

Hello Fred. The US is cursed with fixed term limits, not as you in the parliamentary system, who can dissolve governments at times like this.
With guaranteed fixed limits, there is naught to do but keep cursing under the breath while you bide your time. That's what Lurker is doing.
If it's a problem, fix the system.

Re: Donald Trump Vent Thread
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Millions of Americans were startled by the revelation on Wednesday afternoon that there was someone working in the Trump White House capable of writing an entire editorial, reports indicate.
In a nation already rocked by a series of bombshells since Labor Day, the news that an anonymous senior White House official had the command of the English language necessary to compose a seemingly coherent Op-Ed piece suitable for publication in a major newspaper was perhaps the most improbable development of all.
Davis Logsdon, a professor of linguistics at the University of Minnesota, said that a team of language experts under his supervision has studied the Op-Ed word by word and is “in a state of disbelief” that someone currently working for Donald J. Trump could have written it.
“There are complete sentences, there are well-structured paragraphs, there is subject-verb agreement,” he said. “This does not appear to be the work of any White House staffer we’re familiar with.”
Stressing that he and his team of linguists are “not even close” to determining the author, Logsdon said that they were currently using the process of elimination to whittle down the list of possible scribes.
“Based on the mastery of language that we see here, it’s not Sarah Huckabee Sanders, John Kelly, Stephen Miller, or Kellyanne Conway, and it’s definitely not Jared,” he said.

It's no secret former talk show host and former Cincinnati Mayor Jerry Springer is no fan of Failing Cheeto-Faced Ferret-Wearing Shit Gibbon.
He continued his criticism of the president at a Labor Day event where he claimed the president—who has faced numerous scandals since taking office, including accusations by two women that he paid them hush-money over alleged affairs—took Springer’s show of controversial tabloid-like scenarios and brought it to the White House.
“He took my show and brought it to the White House,” Springer said in his speech, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer.
Springer was speaking in Cincinnati to the largest federation of labor unions, American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO). Trump attacked the labor union’s president, Richard Trumka, on Labor Day just hours after a tweet about celebrating the day meant to honor the American worker.

The President Is a Crook
https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2018/08/the-president-is-a-crook/568123/?utm_source=fbb
So now it’s confirmed, as a matter of legal record, that Failing Cheeto-Faced Ferret-Wearing Shit Gibbon organized a scheme to violate federal election laws. He directed his longtime personal attorney to pay at least one woman for silence. That attorney got the money by lying to a bank to get a home-equity line of credit.
It’s a matter of legal record, too, that Trump’s campaign chair was a huge-scale crook. Despite his desperate financial straits, he volunteered to work for Trump for free—and Trump accepted.
These two cases complete the beginnings of the story. They are not the story in full. The Michael Cohen and Paul Manafort cases are like the first rocky outcroppings a ship passes as it makes landfall. They are examples of the kind of people willing to work for Trump—and the way that those people carried on their business. They indicate why one of Trump’s sons would write “I love it” when offered stolen information about the Hillary Clinton campaign by a purported representative of the Russian government, how so much doubtful money flowed into the Trump Organization after 2006, and why Trump dares not publish his tax returns.
Manafort, Cohen, and Trump: The system is rotten.
House Speaker Paul Ryan’s office replied to a query from The Washington Post about the Cohen case: “We are aware of Mr. Cohen’s guilty plea to these serious charges. We will need more information than is currently available at this point.” Of course, a major priority of Ryan’s speakership has been to protect himself and his party against unearthing “more information” about Trump’s campaign, Trump’s businesses, and Trump’s finances. But despite his incuriosity, more information will almost certainly head his way, unless …
Unless Cheeto-Faced Ferret-Wearing Shit Gibbon somehow finds a way to shut it down.
It gets harder and harder to condemn an investigation as a witch hunt as it holds your closest associates accountable for major crimes. Who imagines that the Cohen plea and Manafort conviction represent the end of the trail? Pardons can protect the president’s associates from prison. But they can’t protect the president issuing the pardon—if anything, they would worsen his exposure and enhance the impression of guilt.
The Mueller investigation is just getting started.
Trump has apparently calculated that the cost of closing down Robert Mueller’s inquiry is greater than the cost of enduring it. That always looked a gamble against the odds. Now it looks a proven bad bet, and a bet that will only worsen over time.
Can Trump’s own affairs survive the scrutiny applied to Cohen’s and Manafort’s? Can his company’s? Can his family’s?
Before Trump entered politics, nobody ever bothered to look very hard into Trump’s affairs. Now they are looking. Trump imagined that holding the usual powers of the presidency would safeguard him. He has learned his mistake. In November 2017, he complained to a friendly radio interviewer:
The saddest thing is that because I’m the president of the United States, I am not supposed to be involved with the Justice Department. I am not supposed to be involved with the FBI.
Not supposed to be—but what if he concludes he has to be? As Trump comprehends his danger, will he really meekly submit?
Trump’s whole philosophy of life is of a kill-or-be-killed competition. It’s an old question: Is Trump an authoritarian, or a crook? The answer is shaping up. Trump must be an authoritarian precisely because he is a crook. The country can have the rule of law, or it can keep the Trump presidency. Facing that choice, who doubts what Trump’s answer, or the answer of his supporters, will be?

Lurker's just carrying on, carrying on. The longevity factor is that we can't get rid of a fraud in office like you guys can. Lurker's just keeping the campfire embers hot until we get to turn the buffoon out. Imagine what it feels like from over here. We are as impatient as you.
Lurker's memes are timely remarks on each new Trump incident or indiscretion that comes along. I mean...why reinvent the wheel if someone has already crafted a clever meme.
Relax and enjoy, nicko.

Or alternatively, nicko, you could look in on them one day every week or two, and scan through them quickly.
Just to see if one or two jokes still catch your attention..
