Family shares moving video of 'angel' nurse singing patient’s favourite song as she lay dying
A US family shared a moving video of an ‘angel’ nurse who sang a patient’s favourite song to her as she lay dying of cancer, which has been viewed millions of times.
Margaret Smith was admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, in Nashville, Tennessee, last week as her health rapidly declined.
The 63-year-old was diagnosed with liver cancer last year but was too sick to survive a transplant. As she lay in the hospital her nurse, Olivia Neufelder, comforted Ms Smith while her anesthetic wore off by singing her favourite song to her, “Dancing in the Sky” by Dani and Lizzy.
On Monday Ms Smith’s daughter, Megan, shared a clip of the moving scene on Facebook, which has since been viewed over 3.4 million times.
