Re: Happy Birthday Vic
I raise my glass and wish you well, old boy.
(Ps: Any hints on keeping friggin' badgers from diggin' up my paddock? A 12-bore is out because the buggers are protected; they regard any anti-badger fence as an incitement to mining operations in order to circumvent it, and an electric fence powerful enough will probably incinerate some rambler's wedding tackle and result in me receiving a letter from Messrs Sue, Grabbit & Runne, Injury Lawyers. Owt else I can do?)

Spray the ground with wormkiller. Had this problem on my cricket outfield. Got a firm.in to spray - killed the worms, got rid of the badger's food supply.

Thanks. Sounds drastic but I might have to resort to it. Does the stuff also kill leatherjacket larvae, as I understand these are also a favourite food of badgers?

Re: Happy Birthday Vic
Yup. The firm will use a selective insecticide. The only unfortunate casualties will be Tawny mining bees, if you have them. I have them on my cricket square as well as worms, which I can live with as they aeriate the top 6" of topsoil. Luckily my badgers only roamed on the outfield. Big holes they dug though. Took a bit of filling in.
