Over the bikini line! 'Offensive and highly sexualised' Femfresh advert with dancers in skimpy swimwear is BANNED 'for objectifying women'
An advert for bikini line shaving products showing numerous close-ups of women's crotches has been banned for being 'too raunchy' and objectifying women.
The ad for Femfresh, which boasts that its products - including shaving balm and 'intimate wash' - provide 'Expert Care for Down There', shows a string a women in bikinis and swimsuits dancing to pumping music.
The women are shown in an array of revealing outfits as they 'bend and thrust' towards the camera.

I've watched the video and it does focus on their crotches, with lots of close ups and thrusting movements.
I really do hate feminine hygiene commercials, not because I'm particularly prudish but because it's very personal to women and we all know where to buy them etc.
Can't we have some mystery?

Yeah it was all bit fannified.
I hate adverts. Let's take this one for an example. It tells us their product "reduces razor bumps and redness" but we all know that those woman didn't just shave their muffs and then go and make that video.
It's just a pack of lies. Like the make up removers or creams for skin; close-up of a woman in full make-up (the kind of make-up that looks like they have none on ) rubbing absolutely nothing on her skin!!
Why don't that fuck off? We are not stupid!
Or the adverts that tell you their new line of whatever is the "best yet" and still sell their old line of whatever. If they're saying the new one is the best why are they still selling their old shit?

They're not trying to convince you of the story-line. They are reaching for instant 'product establishment'. It's what Tocqueville, Marshall Mcluhan and Marcuse have all been telling you about collective acceptability.
The media is instant subliminal product recognition and propels the product into the immediate high-end, if not top spot. More acceptability = more money.

Someone needs to make a proper advert:
"Buy our deodorant. It's smells nice and it works. Is it the best? Dunno but it's cheaper than most deodorants. See of you like it. If you don't, we will make a nicer one"
If I was spoken to like that I'd believe them and I'd buy it.

Why do feminine sanitary adverts always feature blue liquid to represent period blood or discharge. What is wrong with the colour red?

They do that with mascara. Promote it it under a new name and change the shape of the brush. It's still the same product. Do they think we're stupid?

The same reason you never see brown skidmarks on underpants for washing commercials.

Just watched the ad....I imagine it'll appeal more to men than women.
Would I fall for the stuff they sell...nope.

Nature has manipulated male and female psychology rather nicely: men desire sex directly, while women desire to be desired. You can see the long-term reach of both...women, after all, will end up getting pregnant.
The female eroticism (which is what the advertisers are selling) is much more cerebral and interactive...that's why men's porn is straight pictures, while women's porn is in the form of (relatively) more complex romance novels. That's also why women buy perfumes, make-up and clothes that show off the cleavage...they are not simply going after genitalia, but a role in their own attraction.
The point is to always play to these two motives. One will be the other; and vice-versa.

Women (like me for instance) love to dress up, wear makeup, perfume, clothes than flatter my figure, but I don't do it for male attention or even female attention and never have.
I do it because I like it.

Yes, but note: I didn't say you were doing it, but that Nature is doing it. You like the way you feel; but Nature has her own designs, working behind the scenes.
(I realize that this is personification of Nature. But it's an easier way of expressing the pattern. Nature is really natural selection.)

I think society has moved on a lot since the days of 'Me man you woman'.
Many women want the no strings attached sex....many men have become more feminised...certainly more romantic.
I also think males care as much about their appearance as lots of females do.....they may still like the wham, bam, thank you mam way of wooing....but they wont get any if they are unatractive to the lady of the species.

Just watched it, I think its obscene tbh.
Why do they do these adverts, women are not sex things, they're people. I also hate those sani ads, so bloody wrong.
Something's don't need advertising, and they don't.

I do....the pill empowered women, some went to far in trying to emasculate men.....maybe a subconscious revenge on how they have been treated for generations.

Think about it: men are blue blazers and black wingtip shoes. Boooorrrrring! Nowhere near what women do to attract attention. Men are genetically designed to just go for it...forget being attractive. As Trump said, grab the pussy!
On the other hand, what is attractive to women about men, is power and ability, in whatever way, shape or form. It's first, brute strength; second, the pocketbook; and third, suave and sophisticated maneuvering. No one looks at, or even cares about male genitalia. It's not the work of art, the Venus de Milo; it's a tool...even called the tool.

I cant remember the last time I saw a man in a blue blazer...especially a man who was trying to pull.
I agree power and strength attract women, they want a big strong seed to make strong babies, if that comes with money and power all the better....but.....even the most dedicated gold digger wants to be able to look at something nice.
Venus is a work of art...so is David......which proves size doesn't matter, but good looks do.

But I'll bet David didn't sell as quick as Venus. I know the Squeeze Box strip club makes more money than the Lilly Pond Tea Room. Lol.

I think Trump does care. His hair, which he insists on doing himself by all accounts, takes him ages, several mirrors and lots of hairspray....he is also anxious to appear gallant in public, he doesn't pull it off but he's still trying.
Both Venus and David are works of art, some things just cant be pitted against each other.

But what does Trump care about? Grabbing pussy. He is also extraordinarily narcissistic, which adds a complication to him and his hair. He is shallow.

Nonetheless, Venus is more of the sex symbol:
Patrickcussen wrote:The Venus de Milo and Statue of David.
The Venus De Milo is most likely the most famous art sculpture in the world. This statue was the inspiration of Michelangelo's sculpture of David. If you compare the two together they look very similar. The David sculpture has arms where as The Venus De Milo has no arms. Many experts say that if the Venus did have arms it would be almost identical. The David was sculpted in the times of the Renaissance but the Venus was way before the major art period. This masterwork, created out of a marble block from the quarries at Carrara that had already been worked on by an earlier hand, definitively established his prominence as a sculptor of extraordinary technical skill and strength of symbolic imagination. Also during this period, Michelangelo painted the Holy Family and St John. It is possible that the David was conceived as a political statue before Michelangelo began to work on it. Certainly David the giant-killer had long been seen as a political figure in Florence, and images of the Biblical hero already carried political implications there.
A political figure? Even you don't find politics very sexy.

Yes, some say the David was a copy of the pose of Venus, a much earlier statue. They claim, in the passage above, her arms were in the same pose as David's.

Not until I read it in the above. But painting and sculpting are areas where there is a lot of borrowing...like, compare River Gods (3rd century AD), reflected on a Roman sarcophagus...
,,,to Edouard Manet's early impressionist classic Luncheon on the Grass, painted in 1863.
The subject, setting and topic can be completely different, but artists pay attention to form and pose more than context. Lol...either they don’t think we know what plagiarism is, or perhaps they think we won’t catch them.

Another thing, while the statue of Venus is a nearly perfect representative of the female form, the statute of David is odd insofar as his torso is so feminine. Males have their center-of-gravity in their shoulders and chests, while females have it in their hips.
David's rib cage doesn't extend far enough for a male, making him appear muscular, but slight. Plus his hips are femininely long in proportion to his short chest. His body looks for all the world like a long-waisted female. Compare his hands, which are masculine and large, to his body. They seem out of place. Venus, of course, has no hands, so the artist was free to return to form.
All this suggests that David was a copy of Venus, as you suggest. Michelangelo may have paid more attention to copying and less to original sculpting.

Well far be it for us to criticise priceless works of art but..... The more I study David from that angle....I see what you mean.
The hands are out of proportion, David's fingers and thumb is longer and bigger than his penis, that looks odd.
I wonder if thats because Venus had no hands for Michelangelo to copy.
