Sixteen year old boy charged with the rape of an eight year old girl.

Following on from the paedophile thread, could this boy be a paedophile.. or a very disturbed youngster possibly acting out what he's seen on the internet.

The little girl has gone through something that will probably affect her all her life, and what of him?

Officers were called to Nuthurst Park in Moston, Greater Manchester, at around 6.55pm on Saturday night after reports the girl was found in tears after being raped and the offender had been chased off by members of the public.

The suspect, aged 16, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested by police in a nearby shop on Saturday evening. 
Police said the boy has been remanded to appear in custody at Manchester Youth Court on Monday.

At 16 this boy knows right from wrong and should be able to control his urges. Probably exposed to porn from a young age.

I hope he goes to prison. He knows what his doing. My God, that poor little girl, what a terrible thing to happen to her. Bless her heart.

I also think the likelihood is he has been exposed to online porn.

I was amazed how easy it was to access porn when I first went online.
I know my grandson who was 10 at the time had typed in a word and seen pics that turned my stomach...(I know because I typed in the same word) so God knows what it does to young minds seeing a steady stream of images that not long ago would have been behind the counter stuff for adults only.

I hope he gets help Mags....and obviously he should be taken out of society and given therapy.....though God knows if it'll work.

The girl will get help and my heart bleeds for her.

The boy needs a different kind of help, if he doesn't get it there may be many more 8 year old girls in the future who will suffer because of him.

A friend of mine watched that and told me how awful it is. I actually have the DVD, but I'm really not sure where it came from. So far, I haven't watched it, and I don't think I will. I'm really not sure about donating it to a charity shop though.

It would play on your mind more if you ever watched it.

I think it was shown on Ch 4 extreme season a few years ago.....I like films that push boundaries, but this one was just totally gross.

Back to the 16 year old boy in the OP, and now sadly the other young man raping a four year old girl in Salford.
Porn is now so easily accessed, you don't need to watch a TV film....just go online and press a few keys, the most extreme images come up for all to see.
The detachment of human emotion, just seeing women as objects, obviously desensitises some young minds to the extent that even age doesn't matter when they decide to act out the stuff they see, and obviously the younger or more vulnerable the victim the easier it is for them.
They possibly are paedophiles, especially the 20 year old, but possibly the younger kids who rape children are just so dysfunctional they target anyone available.

So much violence as well. These films have a lot to answer for.

Do they sentence underaged kids to adult prison terms there? I know in the US states have provisions whereby kids can be tried as adults (and thus sentenced as adults). The only thing they can't do, is sentence them to the death penalty.

No he will be tried as a juvenile. They have places for them to go, used to be Borstal, until they reach 18 I think it is Quill, then they go to prison.

He should be tried as adult imo, he's done an adult crime.

Here, kids as young as 8 - 9 can be tried as adults.

When they are put into the adult system, they are treated at adult facilities. I guess that's to feed the paedophiles in prison.

No argument here.  But we were talking, more specifically, about the issue of juveniles being tried as adults.  Had they been tried as juveniles, they would not have been convicted of murder, but of violation of the juvenile code.
