A 999 operator rowed with a mother-of-three moments before she was stabbed ten times by her boyfriend, it has been reported. Police did not attend the scene on Rutland Street, Grimsby, for 45 minutes because the operator noted the wrong house number and failed to record the caller Kris Connelly was assaulted the day before, a damning report found. Ms Connelly had been slashed in the face and neck by partner Oliver Mayes by the time police arrived. She was in a rehabilitation centre for six months suffering from memory and brain damage. Mayes was sentence to a minimum of seven-and-a-half years after pleading guilty to attempted murder in what prosecutors described as one of the most shocking domestic abuse cases they had seen.
He attacked Ms Connelly at around 8.50am, ten minutes after she called the police in May last year.
