Wise old saying :
"Fingers were invented before forks !"
Some philistines on here would probably even want a knife and fork to eat pizza or a hamburger..

I tend to agree. Food is sensual to me so I quite like food I can eat without cutlery.
Having said that, I used to have kong nails and hated getting sugar in them so I would eat my jam doughnuts with a knife and fork.

Some food is obviously finger food, and I think I read that Americans tend to eat pizza without cutlery whereas Brits prefer to eat with. I've eaten a hamburger with a knife and fork simply because the damned thing was too big to get my mouth around.
On the whole, I prefer using cutlery to eat. And with the amount of people who don't wash their hands after using the public bathroom....

I've never ever eaten pizza with a knife and fork??!
And those same employee people who don't wash their hands are the same ones touching your cutlery anyway....

I remember not the times I first went into a pizza place and burger joint in England in 1983. Yes people were trying to eat both with cutlery. My sister and I looked at each like wth kind of country this this?
I will say that with some of these new style burgers that yes, you can’t get it into your mouth in one bite. I tend to take the top bun off.
Eds- a jam doughnut???? Now I’ve heard everything

Custard slice, you bite down just enough for the custard to ooze out each side, lick the custard off each side, then take a proper bite and repeat.

What's wrong with jam doughnuts? I'm a little addicted to them.

Nothing. I love them. But with a knife and fork??? A spoon I could understand in order to scoop up any excess jam.

Don’t get me started.
I like a good egg McMuffin and hashbrown myself, great hangover cure.

Egg and cheese muffins from mcds are fab. The hash browns are vile though - dripping in oil.

Not using a knife and fork saves on the washing up.
