Police in north London arrest man 'wielding meat cleaver and targeting Jews'

Aknife-wielding man reported to be targeting Jewish people in in north London was arrested after threatening a shopkeeper on Tuesday.
Scotland Yard said they had been called at around 4pm to reports of a man armed with two knives threatening a shopkeeper on Upper Clapton Road. A Met Police spokesman said nobody had been hurt in the incident and a man was later detained at a nearby address.
The incident came after figures in February showed hate crime against Jewish people in Britain increased by more than a third last year, with recorded incidents now at record levels.
