Macron is an ex city trader... wants to raise retirement age... raise working week hours... pro EU... pro big business...

Le pen wants to protect workers and jobs and prevent raise in retirement age...

Macron says he’ll slash the cost of labor and raise take-home pay through reductions in payroll taxes, unify France’s disparate pension systems, encourage labor negotiations at the company level, but wouldn’t raise the retirement age or cut pensions. He announced plans to trim class sizes, give more independence to schools, and subsidize access to more culture for young people.

He has made lots of promises... cutting corporation taxes while increased spending in many other areas... so where is the explanation of where the money will be coming from to pay for the extra spending while also covering the cost of corp tax cut...?


The point of thread is to show that the so called far right le pen is actually very left of the so called centre or centre left macron...

Macron is a centrist, not a leftie.

Le Pen is economically quite LW. But as socially conservative as it is posdible to be (anti-immigration, anti-gay rights, anti-Muslim, wants more prisons and supports the death penalty).

Her platform is built around her anti-immigration position. Hence she is seen as Far Right.

It's a shame she is such a ardent social conservative, her economics are much more agreeable Wink

Actually this is historically a break from the traditional 2 party system of left an right

both are economic and social policy opposites like Elizel said but by french standards macron is fairly right economically and left socially
