Jack The Ripper ‘Killed Many More Than Five And May Have Been A Cannibal Too’
Crime writer Patricia Cornwell has devoted half of her career to identifying the murderous ghoul who posed as Jack the Ripper, and her findings do not paint a pretty picture. Having spent millions on research and analysis of the mocking letters sent to police during his reign of terror, Cornwell is now certain the killer was British impressionist painter Walter Sickert.
The artist, who died in 1942, is the subject of her latest book and Cornwell has now revealed it was the British police themselves who suggested she investigate the man who made a successful career drawing nudes of brutalised women.

There are so many people who have their own opinion who is the Ripper. I've some of what she wrote and it makes sense but also so does the fact it could be the Queens surgeon. I don't think we will ever really know.

I doubt we ever will know Magica, but I am interested in reading others hypothesis on this.

I'm fascinated with it tbh. I reckon there were more murders unaccounted for.
I think the Police had a good idea who it was, so might be someone protected?
Did you know Lewis Carroll was a suspect.

Its possible the Police could have been protecting the suspect.
Have to go, so have a good evening

I'm something of a ripperologist, as well. I've visited all the sites, with my daughter...also a ripperologist.
First, some of the victims don't fit, and they may be by someone else. The one's below Commercial Road do not seem to fit. They came too early, and were treated as individual crimes...and didn't get the full benefit of investigation they deserved. On the other hand, they might well have been incidental and separate crimes. We'll never know.
I tend to go with the Metro police conclusion: the Polish Jew, Aaron Kosminsk, who lived in Mile End Old Town. He was identified as "Cohen" in police records, but in 1888 the name "Cohen" was used like "John Doe" today, if the suspect was a known Jew. In other words, it was just a placeholder for 'unknown--of Jewish origin'.
Recently, a blanket or shaw found by the body of Catherine Eddowes was examined by Jari Louhelainen, an expert in molecular biology, "who used pioneering techniques to find DNA from her blood and that of the killer." https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/sep/08/jack-the-ripper-polish-aaron-kosminski-dna
Detractors still argue that so many people handled the shawl that they can't be sure. But that's irrelevant...how did Kosminsk's DNA get on the shawl if not from the murder? He surely was not one of the several investigators who handled the item. Besides, not that many actually handled the shawl; the shawl had been taken by acting Sergeant Amos Simpson, who was on duty the night of Eddowes’s death and wanted it for his wife. But she wouldn't wear the blood-soaked garment, and it was stored away until is was put up for auction.
Kosminsk died in an asylum in 1899.

Wow I didn't know about DNA on the shawl. If that is so, then it must be Kosminsk, as his DNA wouldn't be there if he hadn't touched her. Unless, he had sex with her beforehand then she was killed by another.
Fancy the policeman wanting to give his wife the blood stained shawl
