The plan is to make America stop working during the Trump-Redneck era, and simultaneously to figure out lawful ways to drive him out of office.  Impeachment is one option; however, it requires crimes and misdemeanors.  His affiliations with Russia may hold some potential, but he controls the reins of investigation.  It's up to the press...and individuals who oppose him.

The other alternative is the 25th-Amendment, section 4:

I believe that the Republicans are planning to use this as the way out, but first they want to slip as much as they can of their hooligan agenda under the door, before they commence to remove him.  When adopted back in 1967, the 25th-Amendment. section 4, really contemplated illness or physically disability.  But it doesn't say that specifically, does it?  So, what's to prevent the VP from simply saying that the president "is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office...", not giving any reason?  Short, simple...and sweet.

The problem for progressives is that it leaves VP Mike Pence in charge.  But, what with all the public disenchantment being voiced, at the midterm elections 2018 Americans will elect a Democratic Congress.  But that would create a disincentive for the VP...but perhaps by then the Republicans will see the writing on the wall.
