Australian PM Malcolm Turnbull Stands Up to ‘Bully’ Trump
President Trump held his most contentious call yet with a supposed ally late Wednesday. During a call with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull reports suggest both men forcefully expressed their views, before the call was abruptly ended. According to a report in The Washington Post, Trump blasted his “ally” for a refugee agreement between the two countries, and bragged about his electoral win before ending the conversation nearly 30 minutes early. Sources close to Turnbull told Sky News Australia that the Australian leader hit back when Trump lost his cool. Trump is a “bully” and “to combat a bully, you need to bully back,” insiders said. Turnbull admitted he had spoken “candidly” and “frankly” with Trump. “I do stand up for Australia. My job is to defend Australian interests,” he said. Trump had reportedly told Turnbull that among the other calls he’d had with world leaders—including Russian President Vladimir Putin—that day, “This was the worst call by far.” Speaking about a deal for the United States to take in 1,250 refugees from an Australian detention center, Trump allegedly complained that he was “going to get killed” politically and accused the country of trying to export the “next Boston bombers.” Trump tweeted late Wednesday: “Do you believe it? The Obama Administration agreed to take thousands of illegal immigrants from Australia. Why? I will study this dumb deal!”

Blimey, he is sure going out of his way to piss everyone off.
Its like he is on a mission of self destruction for the US

Good for Turnbull. The noose tightens as Trump finds individuals that he can't bully.
Imagine four years of this...how any people are going to hate him.

Its incredible Quill, its as if he is deliberately committing political suicide, or that he thinks he can push everyone around. A sign of a true dictator
Did you see the picture?
What do you notice from this official photo of the Phone conversation with the Aussie PM?

I think it's just an incredible confluence of circumstances: a bunch of white-supremacists and motorcycle gang members get together and vote for him, and in just three states the districts are so contorted that it turns the electoral college. The things he said (and still says) feed the base: pussy-grabber, yellow shower, mocking disabled people, talking down to minorities, calling them criminals and rapists, vilifying religions, doing away with NATO, nuclear-rearming Europe, invading nations for their natural resources. These things are now normalized in American political jargon. And all because of a confluence of a couple of otherwise inconsequential events. After all, he lost by 10-million votes. Who would have figured the chances?

Good for Turnbull.
If only Theresa May had been so forthright.
I'm still hoping she is going by a different method though...she may (hopefully) detest the man and his values, but she is working her womanly wiles to make her point rather than going straight in for the jugular.

It also emerged Republican Senator John McCain called Australian Ambassador to the US, Joe Hockey, to smooth over relations.
“I called Australia’s ambassador to the United States this morning to express my unwavering support for the US-Australia alliance,” Senator McCain, who has frequently criticised Mr Trump, said in a statement.
Senator McCain added that he asked Mr Hockey to “convey to the people of Australia” that Americans valued their alliance, “honour the sacrifice of the Australians who have served and are serving by our side, and remain committed to the safer, freer, and better world that Australia does far more than its fair share to protect and promote”.
for the record I don't even support the deal, the RW made a rod for their own backs, To be fair Turnbull has inherited this rod from Abbott. they have made such a big deal that they will "Not take refugees that arrive by boat" that they cant back down or they will lose their base.
This has actually been great for the LW, so we have just been quiet and let them do what we wanted, they have had to significantly increase refugee intake from UN camps to stop the couple of thousand that arrived undocumented via boat they have ended up taking 10,000's more through UN programs

The very fact that Trump is making such juvenile and idiotic Tweets, after the event -- and quite at odds with his own officials, advisors and the US Ambassador to Oz -- only goes to prove what an unbalanced and unthinking "loose cannon" he is...

Now would be appropriate, you'll have noticed how the flag is flying on our site logo.
And you can blame the people who felt so bad about being homophobic and not having tried quinoa that their only recourse was to put an incompetent egomaniac in charge of the U.S. foreign policy, military, nuclear arsenal, intelligence community, etc., etc., ...

So Turnbull wanted to dump a load of refugees on the US rather than take them in? Why can't the Aussies take them in? I thought they were caring and sharing people - according to the Aussies on here.

I don't want Theresa May to detest him - that's judging someone before knowing them first and nobody can tell what the President will be like every one is just picking on everything he does , why not let him do his job first before condemning him . Fair is fair after all Obama and the other presidents were given a chance .

He's already fooked up big time in Yemen. A raid that the more savvy Obama nixed. Cost the life of one highly trained seal. Lost one expensive aircraft. Killed many civilians. Accomplished nothing.
Seen enough? How many Benghazi's do you want to give him?

These people are not middle easterners, but rather boat people from Papua and New Guinea. Australia is overloaded with them, and in deal with the US, the latter agreed to take some in.
Trump is trying to liken them to middle easterners, but they are not. Trump is basically anti-foreigner...look out UK, you're next.

They are not from papua new guinea Originally
Aussies picked them up trying to land on our coast.
We have a deal with a few south pacific nations (including Papua new Guinea)
they let us build detention centers, to keep 'illegal immigrants' while they are processed as real refugees or not (majority are found to be legit)
Long back story 20 years in the making but basically come down to the right of appeal, If they were in Australia They'd be able to appeal all the way up through the court chains costing fuck tonnes , and RW John Howard hit on that as a way to angry up the blood of hill shepherds and get them to vote for him. Then 9/11 happened and terrorism became the reason Australia was being a bunch on inhumane geranium.
despite the fact that this is stupid as most illegal migrant in Australia arrive via plane with tourist visas and just stay after they expire. It continues to be the RW coalitions policy and labour didn't do much to fix it last time they softened it but then Abbott got elected and made it stupidly restricted.
Tony Abbott Made a big song and Dance About NEVER letting anyone that tried to get here by boat illegally(yes the aboriginals had a good laugh at the one too ) Even if they were later found to be legitimate refugees, (the fallacious argument is that it is too dangerous and supported people smugglers, there had been some fatal disaster that the media made a bid deal out of because they hated Gillard)
So we ended up with all these legitimate refugees that the RW gov't wont let in for political reasons
that have filled up the detention centers and legally we are supposed to resettle then somewhere.
LW have generally allowed it because every time there has been a outed as being nasty geranium they have gone 'no where not look we'll increase refugee intake from UN camps by x%' so we are taking more refugees then ever but NONE via boat and to that end the amount of boat arrivals has dropped, Possibly Abbot that hounded Gilliard about Boats arrivals and the numbers, stopped the reporting of the amount of boats and started a policy to catch them in international waters and tow them straight to one of the detention centers.

As explained above...
Also Obama made the deal that we had to take 2 from UN camps for everyone of these boat arrivals the US takes.
So we can take them, But dumb ass hill shepherd think that coming by boat makes them bad,
I don't under stand why any more than i under stand why the brexiter wants to ruin their economy
Possibly genetic memory of what happened to the locals when a bunch poor down trodden people arrived on the tall ships in 1788
Either that or they are just cowardly pea brained hill shepherds
